Round 13 Records is a label cooperative based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Round 13 was started in July 2005 by J. Bartell and Dave Ott of TONNAGE. Over the last few years Round 13's roster has grown to include Minnesota bands 20 Dollar Love, The Ugly Fat Kids, The Dunwich Whores, The Skullcranes, The Summer People, Six Six Crush and Sick Machine, plus Wisconsin bands Poney, Helliphant and Droids Attack, as well as the Chicago based bands Planet Struck and Imperial Battlesnake.
The driving force behind Round 13 is cross-promotion and marketing. Round 13 is not really a "label" in the conventional sense of the word, meaning that nobody gets "signed" or is forced into a long-term committment. Round 13 is interested in working with Twin Cities and upper Midwestern bands who aren't entirely focused on the dollars and cents of the music business, or driven by the idea of becoming famous. Round 13 is open to all musical styles and genres, as long as you're willing to put forth the effort of promoting Round 13 and the other bands on the label.
