About Me
A little bitta 70's garage rock, punk, blues + metal thrown in a blender with some blood and beer and mixed into a creamy, dreamy, foamy rock&roll smoothie. 20 Dollar Love have been together in one way or another since 1996. Andy, Ben, and Nate have been in every incarnation. A couple of years ago we decided to persue our rock&roll pipe dream as a three piece. In the vain of Mountain and Cream. Our adventures have taken us far from our home base in Burnsville to exotic places like Black River Falls wi, and FARGO. Come see us play sometime!=================================================Re

20 Dollar Love - Sex Rock Heroes
Sometimes when hard rock bands stretch into the "prog rock" deal it dilutes the real meaning behind rock and roll. 20 Dollar Love, don't play it fancy or try to hard to find the most complex guitar and bass passage, they play it real. Hard rock with grit and determination. If your looking to have a good time, drink some beers and shake your fist a bit they are perfect. Of course one of my favorite songs on the CDs is called "Unicorns" and stretches the rock a bit with some cool guitar parts. It reminds a bit of the first Soundground album, without the Chris Cornell high notes.

review from local jerk-
"Sex Rock Heroes" by 20 Dollar Love is 14 tracks of rock n' roll fury. It's a solid album full of riffs and manic energy inspired by Motorhead, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, some stoner rock, and ZZ Top. The lyrics may be "sophmoric", but that's part of why it's a fun album to listen to.I'd have to say the standout tracks are "The Pearly Gardens of Burnsville", "Unicorns", and of course the cover of "Are You Ready For The Sex Girls" from Revenge of the Nerds.I'll give this album a "Most Triumphant".

Front to back, this is one of the best albums I’ve heard in a long time. No bullshit.20 Dollar Love are a trio from Minnesota that plays good humored, hard rockin’ boogie ‘n’ roll, built from the blocks of raunchy, blues based rock. Ted Nugent, Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Stooges, all that good shit. It’s hip shakin’ stuff, played to make the ladies work up a sweat and get the fellas rowdy. I’ll bet bars sell a whole lot of booze during their live sets. The band play well off of one another, sounding like three bodies attached to the same mother brain. They crank out a sweaty blues shuffle on the title track, and drop a hip grinding beat so lascivious it’d make a veteran lap dancer blush on “Bob Canuk,†a song which may be the best three minutes of rock ‘n’ roll since Mudhoney belted out “Touch Me I’m Sick†nearly two decades ago. Actually, the only thing that comes close to that is another 20 Dollar Love tune called “Unholy Roller,†not included on this release (to hear it, check out the Round 13 compilation The Land of Misfit Bands Volume One). And how can you not dig a band that covers “Are You Ready For the Sex Girls†from Revenge of the Nerds? This is fun music without being too goofy. It ain’t trying to solve any great mysteries of life or adhere to any political agenda. Their ambitions aren’t anything that grand. Their mission is to rock, plain and simple. And, fucking A, do they succeed.====================================================
