Welkom op de My Space van het Amsterdam Roots Festival!
Het Amsterdam Roots Festival is een toonaangevend muziekfestival dat zich ten doel stelt om grensverleggende en nieuwe ontwikkelingen binnen de wereldmuziek te tonen. Het festival biedt ook ruimte aan jong en nieuw talent, en streeft daarbij naar culturele uitwisseling tussen verschillende bevolkingsgroepen. Cross-over vormt dan ook de kern van Amsterdam Roots; nieuwe en opwindende geluiden op het snijvlak van pop- en wereldmuziek.
De 11e editie van Amsterdam Roots 2008 vindt plaats van zat 14 tot en met zat 21 juni 2008.
Het festival kent twee onderdelen: Roots Open Air – zondag 15 juni 2008 Het gratis toegankelijke openluchtfestival in het Oosterpark te Amsterdam. Een uniek muzikaal programma op verschillende podia. Verder zijn er diverse workshops te volgen, is er een uitgebreide wereldmarkt te vinden en is er voor de jongste bezoeker het kids@roots.
Amsterdam Roots in de zalen – zaterdag 14 juni t/m zaterdag 21 juni 2008
Vele concerten en producties in de participerende podia: Het Concertgebouw, Tropentheater, Melkweg en Paradiso.
