The Angolan artist Diamondog is a journalist and rapper since 1998. Currently Living in Berlin, Germany, he has already toured in different countries and cities including Spain - Barcelona, Portugal - Porto, Braga, Poland, and performed at several shows all over Brazil including Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Salvador-Bahia, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, in the company of rappers and illustrious musicians like Afrika Bambaataa , Marcelo D2 , Thaide of the Duo Thaide and DJ Hum, Tianastacia , Wilson Sidereal , Leandro Ferrari, Marku Ribas , Black Sonora , Tambolele, Dj Primo ", Creative School Olodum , Shameema - Godessa (South Africa) and many others.
With long-time rap partner Jazzrell, he formed the Rap-Duo "Clandestino", which means "family connected through the destination". They recorded the CD "A tribute to our nations" with the participation of singer Rena English (Brazil) and rappers such as Toaster Eddie, Kaio Estrao (U.S.A.), Kunkalopi (Cape Verde) and Cubanito (Cuba).
As a result of his malleability and musical plasticity, Diamondog was invited to be part of different musical projects in Brazil and Europe:
" Food to Eat " - filantropico project sponsored by Petrobra, organized by Pode Nastacia, leader of the Brazilian band of Tianastacia rock, with a recorded CD bearing the project's name.
" Arrebite " - project led by the producer Retriger, resulting in the EP "Bicuda" released under the German label Phantanoise Record. The vinyl contains 6 songs, 3 of which are Diamondog's, in the styles rap, ragga and breakbeat. After the launch in April 2007, the English magazine " XLR8R ", specialized in eletronica, wrote an article about the project and made available mp3 samples of the music on in its website.
" Comprades " - project led by Ferrari, including drummer Glauco Nastacia, from Tianastacia, rappers Diamondog, Cubanito and Pow, resulting in 3 songs.
" Acla " - Brazilian producer, for which Diamondog wrote and recorded a song for coletania Hip Hop Brazil.
" Dj Art " - project led by Dj Merije, producer and composer of Collective Universal and Rational Inspiration. The producers belong to the project Alexander Basa - producing music and multi-player (Planet Hemp, Nacao Zumbi, Otto, Instituto and diverse others), DJ Tano - Tri-champion 2003/04/05 of the Hip Hop Djs (the biggest competition of its kind in Latin America), are also art educator (ZAfrica Brazil), Max B.O. - MC and composer (Funk Como Le Gusta, Thaide, Brazilian Academy of rhyme), Renegado - MC, producer and art educator (NUC and First Manifest Step), Diamondog - MC, references: Clandestino group, (Africa Bambaata, Marcelo D2, Tianastacia, Black Sonora).
" Input-Junkies " - project run by german producers, for which Diamondog recorded together with the female rapper Shameema from South Africa. The song International Monkey Business satirises the ignorance of certain people from the West about the "third world".
Diamondog has also taken part in events such as Revolucao Carnival, and festivals such as Pop Rock Brazil alongside Marcelo D2 and Dj Primo in the presence of 25 thousand people. Diamondog has also been invited to share the stage with Africa Bambataa at Electronics in Belo Horizonte at the Festival of Black Art, in Berlin at FILE (International Festival of Electronic Language), and Coca Cola Music. His interviews include those for Real Hip Hop, one of the biggest sites of Hip Hop in Brazil, Radio of United Nations in New York, newspaper Folha of Sao Paulo, and the channels of televisao TV Bandeirantes, TV Globo, TV UFMG, TV Puc and TV of Latin America.
In January 2007, Diamondog was invited by director of photography, Marcelo Trotta ( City of God ) to participate fully in the trailer of the film "Close it sun", and documentary "Beyond the coffee, oil and diamonds". This documentary was finished in April 2007, released at film festivals and recognised for best direction at the Festival of Pernambuco, as well as receiving Honorable Mention at the Awards of Human Rights in Sao Paulo.
Diamondog is also engaged politically, organising social project in schools and immigration centers, showing people that in Hip Hop they can find an alternative way of expressing themselves and changing their social conditions in difficult and violent times. In Brazil Diamondog participated in a wide range of events along this theme. During April - May 2007 he ran workshops about how to use Rap for peaceful conflict transformations, with young people from different social backgrouns in Poland and Germany. These workshops formed part of the project PeaceXchange of the NGO Weltfriedensdienst e.V. (World Peace Service).
Currently, Diamondog pursues a solo career, making shows with your band, or simply Dj-ing.
