MISSION STATEMENT:Dramatic Adventure Theatre provides the opportunity for artists to perform around the world, to explore the unknown and the familiar, and to become intimately involved with distant communities in order to build a platform where ideas, talent, and original works can be shared.

My Interests

We came back from Zimbabwe with a sense of what's happening there, which we will share with New York City audiences in February of next year, details to come.

Zimbabwe holds a dear space in our hearts and we have made a commitment to travel there every year. Our next Zimbabwe Project starts in the Fall of 2008 when we take 2 foreign playwrights and one Zimbabwean playwright on a wild journey throughout the country to gather experiences to be formed into a play called "III Acts". Each playwright will write one Act based on experiences and stories they would like to share. The play will be performed at the 2009 HIFA (Harare International Festival of the Arts) celebration by members of the Bulawayo Young Company.

The Bulawayo Young Company is a group of student actors who are currently being trained at Amakhosi Theatre in Bulawayo with help from members of Amakhosi and Dramatic Adventure Theatre's Staff. They are extremely talented young people and we are excitedly watching them grow into their talent.

THE ECUADOR PROJECT

Our next journey will be to Ecuador- and we're still looking for the PLAYWRIGHT! This team will consist of One Director, One Playwright and Six actors. We will spend close to 2 months in Ecuador listening, learning, and sharing with individuals all across the country.

Let us know if you're interested in being the playwright for this unique project by e-mailing Mary at [email protected].

YOU...you have the opportunity to be a part of this dramatic adventure. Please consider donating your time, energy, talent, or money to this noble cause. You really can make a difference. Together we will empower these people in Zimbabwe and touch lives in many more countries. The message of peace and hope will be taken everywhere DRAMATIC ADVENTURE goes. Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?

You don't have to travel with us to be a part of the adventure...there is much to be done here at home. Please send us a message if you'd like to get involved.
