I am a proud member of AmeriCorps *Vista, which is Volunteer In Service To America. Currently my assignment is to teach disaster preparedness to middle school youth, train in VRC setup (Volunteer Reception Centers) and to bring Teen Cert into the high schools in North Alabama.Keep me in your prayers, as this has never been done in Alabama, therefore I have undertaken a huge task. I will be responsible to developing and implementing this project. My passion is with disaster preparedness and hope to continue in this field long after my term is complete with AmeriCorps.
CHILD, YOU MUST WAIT
Desperately, helplessly, longingly, I cried;
Quietly, patiently, lovingly, God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, "Child, you must wait."
"Wait? You say, wait?!" my indignant reply.
"Lord, I need answers. I need to know why!
Is Your hand shortened? Or have You not heard?
By faith I have asked and I'm claiming Your Word.
My future and all to which I can relate
Hang in the balance, and You tell me to WAIT?
I'm needing a 'yes', a go-ahead sign,
Or even a 'no' to which I can resign.
Oh, Lord, I've been asking and this is my cry;
I'm weary of asking. I need a reply!"
Then quietly, softly, I learned of my fate
As my Master replied once again, "You must wait."
So I slumped in my chair defeated and taut
And grumbled to God, "So I'm waiting...for what?"
He seemed then, to kneel, and His eyes wept with mine,
And He tenderly said, 'I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun;
I could raise the dead and causes mountains to run.
All you seek, I could give, and pleased you will be;
You would have what you want, but you wouldn't know Me.
You would not know the depth of My love for each saint.
You would not know the power that I give to the faint.
You would not learn to see through the clouds of despair.
You would not learn to trust just by knowing I'm there.
You would not know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence are all you can see.
You'd never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of My Spirit descends like a dove.
Sure, you'd known that I give and I save...(for a start),
But you would not know the depth of the beat of My heart.
The glow of My comfort late into the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
The depth that's beyond getting just what you asked
Of an infinite God Who makes what you have last...
You'd never know should your pain quickly flee,
What it means that 'My grace is sufficient for thee."
Yes, your dreams for yourself overnight would come true,
But, oh, the loss, if I lost what I'm doing in you!
So, be silent, My child, and in time you will see
That the greatest of gifts is to get to know Me.
And though often My answers seem terribly late,
My most precious reply is still, "Child, you must wait!"

Hos 2:14 Israel, I, the LORD, will
lure you into the desert and speak gently to you.
Hos 2:15 I will return your vineyards, and then Trouble Valley will become Hopeful Valley. You will say "Yes" to me as you did in your youth, when leaving Egypt.
Hos 2:16 I promise that from that day on, you will call me your husband instead of your master.
Hos 2:17 I will no longer even let you mention the names of those pagan gods that you called "Master."
Hos 2:18 And I will agree to let you live in peace--you will no longer be attacked by wild animals and birds or by weapons of war.
Hos 2:19 I will accept you as my wife forever, and instead of a bride price I will give you justice, fairness, love, kindness,
Hos 2:20 and faithfulness. Then you will truly know who I am.
Hos 2:21 I will command the sky to send rain on the earth,
Hos 2:22 and it will produce grain, grapes, and olives in Jezreel Valley.
Hos 2:23 I will scatter the seeds and show mercy to Lo-Ruhamah. I will say to Lo-Ammi, "You are my people," and they will answer, "You are our God."
The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made. The Lord upholds all those who fall and lifts up all who are bowed down. - Psalm 145:13b-14
Have you ever had a relationship with someone who was faithful? You knew you could depend on that person to do what he said. You learned that his word was completely trustworthy. If he said he would call you, he would. If he said he'd be somewhere at a certain time, he'd be there. In fact, if he was late, you began to wonder if he had an accident because it was so contrary to his nature. It's great to have friends who are faithful.
God is faithful. He is faithful to fulfill every promise in His Word. Sometimes we think God isn't faithful because it appears He has not fulfilled a desire that we have. Sometimes we think He is not faithful because of a crisis event that seems to say God isn't faithful. We must remember that God is more concerned about accomplishing His ultimate purpose in the life of every believer than giving us the desires of our heart. Sometimes this results in hardship.
The Bible is full of accounts of God's faithfulness that was often accompanied by hardship. He brought Joseph out of slavery to be greatly used in a nation. He delivered the people from Egypt and brought them into the Promised Land. He gave Abraham the son of promise late in his life. He delivered David from his enemies and made him a king. In story upon story, we learn of God's faithfulness.
Matthew 7 13"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14"Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Life is filled with choices and options. Our Lord Himself describes the choices that we make here. He talks about two gates, a wide gate and a narrow gate. He talked about two ways, a wide way and a narrow way. One He says is heavily traveled and the other has only a few on it. One way leads to destruction and the other leads to life.
The wide gate represents a life that has a lot of options. The broad way represents a life with few restrictions. There is so much room to do so many things on this road. This way is full of people who are headed in the same direction. Everything is care free and everyone is irresponsible but no one cares!
The attitude on this road is characterized by the slogan, "live it up, eat drink and be merry for tomorrow you shall surely die." "Go for the gusto; have it your way; and gotta be hip" Jesus said broad is the way that leads to destruction.
The other way is a narrow gate. There is room for just one; you cannot follow the crowd through this gate. You have to go through it on your own, by yourself with the help of a very special person who is the Holy Spirit. The way is difficult. You see getting into the gate is just the beginning! The way is narrow. The road is difficult. The benefits are out of this world! Life is the destination!
You see Jesus is the gate and He is the way. His Words are life. These Words are there for everyone but only a few choose to go His Way.
"Enter by the narrow gate" Jesus says, the invitation is open; there are no reasons not to walk with Him! Every decision you make needs to be made on the basis of His Will for your life. Every decision needs to be made on the basis of His instruction found in The Word of God. Every decision that we make outside His Will and outside His Way is a decision to look back at the broad way, a decision that leads to destruction.
For the child of God, that decision will not cost us our eternity, but it will cost us our life here that God has planned for us to have. It can however cost someone else their eternity! Our decisions are important and the way we choose is important. God is searching for people who have a loyal heart toward Him, who have chosen the narrow way to be their way so He can show Himself mightily through them! That is life at its absolute best!
Look to the Lord today and ask Him, which gate am I at; which road am I on today? Make sure; make very sure that you are headed in the right direction. Your eternity depends on your choice today.

But I tell you, take a good look at the fields;I would like to meet the hurting, the heartbroken, the confused,
the pain stricken, the unloved,
the still suffering addict,
the abused, the broken, the lost to hope,
the starving, the poor in spirit and in health
and those in need of a loving hand
that lets
them feel the presence of Jesus Christ.
God use me as Your vessel to carry the Good News
to others that they may come to You
so that they may live
in peace on earth and with You for eternity.
Despite what you may not understand... I do not hate sinners... they are doing what it is their nature to be.. it is the sin that I hate.
Let those who love the LORD hate evil, for He guards the lives of His faithful ones and delivers them from the hand of the wicked - Psalm 97:10
In the Bible, Mark 12:28-31 we are
told that the most important commandments from God are: "Love the Lord your
God with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your mind and with all
your strength. The second is this: Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no
commandment greater than these.
I want to be a light in the darkness. I truly wish to be used of God to plant seeds on good ground so that others may accept the love of our Heavenly Father and ask Jesus into their hearts and be washed clean by the blood that was shed on Calvary.
Christ says, "I'm going to heal the brokenhearted." He means those whose hearts are broken in repentance. It is as if He says, "I'm going to take care of all your past mistakes. I will heal you and give you comfort so you can start out the journey to the Kingdom of God in good spiritual condition."
Remember He has said to you, a new commandment I give unto you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another. [John 13] This means our enemies and those that belong to Him.
Hold fast to this, He said, Peace I leave with you, His peace He gives to you: not as the world gives, He gives to you His. So let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. [John 14]
So, since we ARE also seated WITH Him at the right hand of the throne of God, He has said in Psalms and Hebrews, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool.
Don't sweat it, He's going to make your enemies your footstool.
As He is, so are we...in this world.
People sometimes ask me what they have to do to obtain this great revelation of Christ. They think it is God's way of rewarding us for a lot of hard work. Nothing could be further from the truth. To have one's eyes opened is simply an act of grace, and God alone can do it, and will do it, if we will only ask Him. At the risk of making it
sound "too easy", I dare not make it any more difficult than that!
God I pray you place in me a discerning heart!
There is no remedy for love but to love more.

WE ARE FALLEN, BUT NOT YET HOPELESS!
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen

When a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Will you give me a drink?" John 4:7 NIV
According to the culture and traditions of the day there were many reasons for Jesus not to approach the Samaritan woman.
She was a woman. Men and women didn't communicate much in those days outside the home.
She was a Samaritan. Being half Jew and half Gentile, Samaritans were hated by both groups. They were considered as outcasts of society; dirty people.
She was a sinner. Jesus was righteous. She was a failure. Jesus was the King of kings. What would royalty be doing with a pagan?
With all the reasons for Jesus not to speak to this woman, there was one strong reason for Jesus to give the woman an audience.
Jesus came for people just like her. Just like me!!
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the million who won't survive the week.
If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 20 million people around the world.
If you attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death, you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.
If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.
If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.
If you can read this message, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read anything at all.
You are so blessed in ways you may never even know.

My daughter Ashley is now home from a year in Iraq
where her mission was to train Iraqi soldiers. Please keep her and each and every soldier in your prayers. The things that she endured for our country no one should have to endure. The things that she saw... no one should have to see... the things that she did for her country.. she did because she enlisted and knew the tasks ahead of her.. Could you say the same if your country called upon you today?
With troops stationed in more than
120 nations around the world, the
US military is now more widely deployed than
at any time since World War II.
Virtually every soldier with combat training
has been sent overseas, and the Army Reserve,
comprised basically of weekend soldiers,
makes up about 40 percent of the troops in Iraq.
The army estimates that it will need at
least 74,000 fresh recruits annually to
sustain these troop levels.
