About Me

Our Vision:
“If everyone demanded peace instead of another television set, then there'd be peace.” John Lennon English singer & songwriter (1940 - 1980)
African School Friends is a project aimed at providing young people with the opportunity to think about Africa in a different way and to question the stereotypes that are so frequently used in the popular media.
It is an attempt to encourage young people to learn about the diversity of the continent and to bring attention to the postive aspects that are so often ignored.
Through this we hope to see the emrgence of a new generation who question the typical image of Africa, and in so doing, to help provoke new thoughts as to how African people may best improve their own lives.
The project has two main ambitions.
Engaging with young people and encouraging them to explore their own thoughts on Africa is our primary goal.
However, as a project we are eager to have our ideas and perspectives challenged. Through the wonders of the internet we hope that as many people as possible will get involved to tell us of their own opinions on Africa, be they personal experiences or simply things they have read or seen about the continent. Using a variety of interactive tools we encourage people to read and comment on our blog, discuss issues on our message board and take part in our virtual quiz!
I created my own profile using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM and you should too!
