About Me

Matt Woodall : 34 years old. Born and raised in Wilmington Delaware. I've been playing and writing for about 18 years. Since I write and record the majority of what I post up here, you get a listen to what's going on inside my head.
My favorite singer/songwriter's are the ones whom I feel effectively convey their passions and emotions. It doesn't have to be the most complex chord progression, most difficult guitar solo or most polished lyrics either as long as it rings sincere. Take Gram Parsons for instance, you can hear his heart breaking as he sings "Hot Burrito 1" (among many others) and if you truly listen the next thing you know your tears are rollin down your cheeks like a baby bitch as you drive home from work wondering where it all went wrong......it's that power of music that captivates me and drives me to write my own songs and have my own voice, my say on the way I see or imagine things....and it doesn't just have to be sad shit....alot of my songs are weird little tales or surreal stories about people I know or have only just observed. I think I get a lot of that from the late great Jim Croce. Thanks Jim. Anyway, eventually I'd like to form a band in the Derek in the Dominos vein because they are the perfect blend of country/blues/rock and again, the emotion in their music is unparalled in my book.
Some of the places I've played:
Delaware: The Baby Grand Theater, Mojo 13, Dead Presidents, The Logan House, East End Cafe, Up The Creek, The Good Shot Bar & Tavern, Gators, Stoney's, The Blue Parrot
Philadelphia: The North Star, Lickety Split, The M Room, The Underground, Fergies Pub
New Jersey: Woodstown Hotel Bar, Neena's
