About Me

You know those really well-written bios that come off not quite pretentious, but damn close? I'm neither cool nor creative enough to do one of those, so instead I just present some facts. I'm Grover Anderson, 21, about to finish up school at UC Santa Barbara, been writing since I was 17, and have spent time in the Bay Area, in the mountains (yeah, we have those in California), and on the beach. I've gone through phases of loving Country, hip-hop, mainstream rock, classic rock, and, currently, folk and revival bluegrass. I'm biding my time until graduation, playing open mics and any cafes/restaurants/bars/radio stations that will have me, then going balls out starting next summer. I record in my bedroom (most of the time), but got my start playing on sidewalks in Santa Barbara. I love to chat about music and everything else, so feel free to contact me. And, yeah....that's about it. peace. Now, the pretentious Bio:
Grover Anderson is a twenty-one year old acoustic/folk rock singer-songwriter from the small Northern California town of Murphys. He grew up singing Garth Brooks songs in elementary school talent shows, and has since appeared on stages across Northern and Southern California. In June 2008 he received his degree in Dramatic Arts from UC Santa Barbara. He has played at cafés, farmers markets, bars, resorts, on KJEE, Santa Barbara's Modern Rock Station, and, his favorite, on the sidewalks of both Murphys and Santa Barbara to earn a bit of cash. He has played both solo and with a three-piece band. He mails CDs, upon request, from his MySpace site, www.myspace.com/groveranderson, and is quickly building a nationwide grassroots fan base. He has been praised for his “lyrical ballads in a clear voice” , which can be heard on tracks such as “Something New” and “Sense,” his Dylan-esque meandering songs like “Rewind” and "Falling Down," and his ability to have a good time while delivering lyrics at a rapid pace ("Dandylyin," "Rhymin in Rainbows"). His songs carry a positive message, as Grover is a firm believer in celebrating life through emotion. Contact Me
