Sadly, Waylon left us on February 13th, 2002.

Through his music, he will live on forever.

He was a true pioneer...the significant impact he made on popular music will never be forgotten.

Today, June 15th 2007, marks the 70th anniversary of Waylon's birth.Hoss, you ARE missed.

I'd like to meet:

~A REMINDER~This MySpace was created as a tribute to Waylon - a man who touched many lives thru his music. It'd be great if you'd take a moment to post your Waylon-related comments.

However, I must ask that you please show some respect by NOT turning this into a billboard for whatever it is you're trying to promote. Accordingly, all unrelated advertisements and other nonsense will be promptly deleted. Also, please save all the unecessary 'Flash 'n' Glitter' for elsewhere. It adds nothing of any real value and makes it terribly slow for those still on dial-up. [Waylon pix, on the other hand, are always both welcome and encouraged!!!!] Thank you.

Movies:

Waylon had a number of roles in big screen films. His very first was "Nashville Rebel" in 1966. This is now available on DVD from the online store at www.Waylon.com. Additional info will be added soon.

Did you know that Waylon once guested on "Married With Children"? More will be added so please check back. *******Be sure to check out the 7th and final season of "The Dukes of Hazzard" DVD collection - available on December 5th, 2006. [Waylon appears in 'Welcome, Waylon Jennings']

Books:

Being such an incredible story there were many suggestions over the years for Waylon to write a book about his life. He often joked that "too many people'd get killed or divorced if I told everything I knew." He turned down a number of extremely lucrative offers over the years for a 'sensational' version. Waylon's incredible story was finally made available to the world in 1996, in his self-titled autobiography. Much to his credit, and as testament to his character, it did not contain the all the sordid details that he could have easily recounted. Waylon wrote this with seasoned musician and writer Lenny Kaye. It is still available [hardcover, paperback and audiobook with Waylon reading] at many retailers, or online at places like Amazon.com

Heroes:

Waylon counted his father and Muhammad Ali as heroes. And, I think it's perhaps safe to say that Lil Miss Jessi Colter was likely Waylon's biggest hero - or she had autta been!!
