Calamity Jayne

Calamity Jayne brings with her a sizzling band of players , a piano and a microphone. CJ brings her sassiness and cheeky attitude to the live stage. Collectively, Calamity Jayne’s sound and energy on stage is quite a force to reckon with; a blend of hip country and funky rock, their sound is fresh, daring and extremely bold, pushing the boundaries of country music! Calamity Jayne is a concept that came out of a trip to the Canadian country music awards in Saint John, NB in September 2006. Vocalist and songwriter Wendy Irvine, Bassist/Songwriter/Producer Andrew Fetterley and Stephen Lawrance of Lawrance Artist Management, felt that there was an opportunity for a leading edge band led by a female vocalist on the Canadian scene. This is when the concept of Calamity Jayne was born. The band is currently working on their first full length studio album to be released in the spring of 2008.
