Established by Ron Kitchener, RGK Entertainment Group encompasses a management roster of highly regarded Canadian artists, a record label and fast growing publishing division.
RGK Entertainment Group was established in 1992 to promote concert tours and event marketing projects. By early 1994, Kitchener was working with then up-and-coming country star Jason McCoy. Since that time, he has gone on to win Manager of the Year seven times at the Canadian Country Music Awards, while McCoy has twice been awarded Male Artist of the Year and, most recently, 2006 CMA Global Artist of the Year Award.
On the management roster are Manitoba country rockers and 2009 Juno Award winners Doc Walker, Gold selling, Juno Award winning roots artist Corb Lund,and young up-and-comers Tara Oram and Steven Lee Olsen.
Open Road Recordings was started in the fall of 2003 as a partnership with Maplecore Ltd and Universal Music Canada. In a short period of time, the label has made an impact on the domestic music scene in Canada. The label has one PLATINUM and three GOLD selling releases plus three CCMA awards for Independent Label of the Year. The label is home to The Road Hammers, Prairie Oyster, Doc Walker, Tara Oram, Johnny Reid and the Canadian label home for Big Machine / Valory Music artists; Jack Ingram, Taylor Swift, Trisha Yearwood and Jewel.
Roots Three Music is dedicated to developing songwriting talent both domestically and internationally. Roots Three has a diverse catalog with cuts by Craig Morgan, Jessica Harp, The Road Hammers, Doc Walker, Swedish superstar Jill Johnson and 2007 runner-up Canadian Idol Jaydee Bixby. Writers under the Roots Three umbrella include Denny Carr, Doc Walker's Chris Thorsteinson, Dave Wasyliw and Murray Pulver, Bruce Wallace, Steven Lee Olsen and Kaci Bolls. Roots Three is a co-venture with ole.
Contributing to the growth and enhancement of Canada's phenomenal talent, one of RGK's projects is “Canadian Country on Show†in Australia, a tour developed to take established and rising country artists 'down under.'
