Zoila is instantly recognizable in Dallas, Texas where she built the early stages of her modeling and television career. Currently residing in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Zoila is carving out her own niche in the arts and entertainment industry. Zoila's entertainment highlights include an August 9, 1997 dance performance on stage in Dallas, Texas with the legendary musical genius Prince; landing a recurring spot in 1998 on the CBS television series, Walker Texas Ranger starring the famed martial arts actor Chuck Norris and dancer/actress Nia Peebles; and hosting the Minneapolis Time Warner Cable Systems television show Black Music America Video Magazine. I'd like to meet:

Have you ever felt like you were trying to hold up the four walls of a house with only two hands? Well, that's exactly how I felt before I made the controversial decision a few years ago to relocate from Dallas, Texas to come here... Minneapolis, Minnesota with only myself and my young daughter. So then....How can I now complete the task of building my 'dream house' without the walls collapsing?~The Answer~ ....By using my head and my feet...After living in Dallas for over a decade, I simply felt that I had achieved all that I could do there, in both my personal life and professional career. The whole vibe was no longer beneficial to my lifestyle. So I used my inner strength to step out on faith and start out on a new positive life path. My logic has proven to confuse many of my family and friends that I left behind in Texas, perhaps because some people can't comprehend how anyone could make such a change so suddenly and successfully. The key to my way of thinking is by using faith and "Hope" as my prime motivators. I had to use my head to envision a brand new path for my life, and I used my feet to forge away from a stagnant environment. One day, I set my sights on the distance and set out to see what I could find.... And now I have arrived. It has taken me years of life's experiences to arrive where I am today, but as far as I'm concerned, time is meaningless, and that makes it my ally. By opening my soul to a vast horizon of possibilities, I have manifested an entirely different kind of reality for myself. Not so long ago, I found that trying to comprehend my own role in life's universal equation was both frustrating and time consuming. I wanted all good things to come my way instantaneously. However, I have realized that I should not always look for straight lines, because life is never like that. One of the most important tools that I have acquired on the course of my life's journey is the element of "Equanimity".Defined as: eveness of mind; calmness; spiritual balance.Without utilizing this vital element, I probably would have given up on my hopes and dreams a long time ago. In retrospect, I have encountered those who have challenged me in life spiritually, intellectually and yes, even physically. In every case, I have defeated the opposition by using equanimity as the basis of my strife. Equanimity has also helped me to comprehend the duality of nature. That is how I learned to appreciate life's negative experiences, along with the positive ones. In that respect, it holds true that even the negativity of people and their influences have contributed to the grace of my life's overall design.Very early on in my life, I was awakened to the cold realization that society had marked me with the stigma that being "different" was unacceptable. But I understand now that a huge part of my life's challenge involves my diversity. From the day I was born, I've had to adapt to being oppressed by those who couldn't comprehend all the things that make me different, both inside and out. Never the less, I am pleased and vindicated to find out that there are indeed many open-minded people out here in the world who openly welcome my positive, yet unconventional approach to life, without prejudice. This alone has assured me that I am capable of breaking through the barriers of ethnicity, custom and ideology.Despite any physical attraction someone may find when they see me, I love to prove that sometimes an intellectual attraction can be just as exciting as a physical one. After all, I believe that the flesh is merely a veil that shelters our souls from the world. As an artist of sorts, the most significant thing I want everyone to understand about me is that I constantly seek to strike the perfect balance between humility, self-confidence and unconditional love. So however one experiences me, whether it's in the form of one of my poems, writings, photographs or even in person...it is my genuine desire that you experience the warmth of my light, my love and the radiance 'behind' my face....Multitudes of Peace To You...Zoila Copyright 2007
