About Me

HOT FreeLayouts.com www.sundanceclub.be----------After having nerved his parents for some years with his homemade mixtapes starring The Marlets, Racey and Michael Jackson, Ikeman (not yet by that name in those days) played his first DJ-set at the age of 15 at his sisters’ communion party. With only one turntable and a handful of records he scared the shit out of his grandparents, uncles and aunts with his set containing AC/DC, Mötorhead and Slayer…aha…let there be rock. After discovering Dead Kennedys’ Nazi Punks Fuck Off! the damage was done. Ikeman turned into punk and new wave and regularly spinned records at the notorious JH Spritzz. Heavyly influenced by Front 242, The Neon Judgement, the Klinik and other Happy Huntinggrounds he bought himself a Yamaha CS15 and started producing his first tunes with a borrowed 4-track recorder and the famous TR-808 (thanks, Witpoederma!). He joined forces with Thomas Hamblok and they started their first band: The Boston T-Party. Their music went from EBM to acid house and new beat. Their tracks (on tape!) were picked up by local radio stations and got played in clubs. During his student years in Mons Ikeman discovered the DnB-founders Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Ed Rush & Optical and started producing some drum ‘n’ bass tracks himself. Travelling through central-america he discovered salsa, merengue and other latin-american music and decided to use these sounds in his own (merely housy now) tracks. In 2004 he released a first track on Plastiks-magazine: Ikeman’s blues. With his own productions he made it to (a.o.) the finals of Technomania and Diesel-U-Music, and set up a liveband with T-Clows on the trumpet and Rik Versweyveld of the Splifftones on bass. Meanwhile the DJ-ing went on. During his residency at the Cinema Café in Lommel he met the fabulous Funky-T, also a res at the Cinema, and they both decided to go on as a dj-duo. With their mix of latin-housemusic, tribal, deep, afrobeat, electro, breaks and even drum ‘n’ bass, they rock each and every party they play. Together they also host the SundanceClub-evenings, a party-concept of warm, tropical sunny summer music in which they invite the best guest dj’s. All just to make you feel the heat and move your dancing feet … Ikeman already played at lots of clubs and parties in Belgium and abroad: Laundry Day, Fuse, 013, Villa Basta, Gracias a la Vida–festival, Beach Party in Padangbai (Bali, Indonesia), Suikerrock (sidestage), 100%-Party, Peltival, Boef ‘n’ Bass, Heemstock-festival, Zodiac…and many others, usually b2b with compadre and partner in crime Funky-T. They already shared the wheels of steel with Buscemi, Stanley Livingstoon, Sven Van Hees, Sweet Coffee, Hermanos Inglesos…
