About Me
Drummer , composer and arranger Andrea Michelutti has been performing throughout Europe for the past twenty-five years, in a vast array of musical situations. Originally from Udine, Italy, graduated at the University of Bologna in Musicology, Andrea moved to Paris to further his musical career and education at the Chatou Conservatory of Music, where he attended a scholarship in classical percussion .
As a jazz drummer he is a self-taught even though he had clinics with the italian drummer Bruno Biriaco ( Siena Jazz ) and Lewis Nash.He has collaborated with:Harry "Sweets" Edison, Hal Crook, Steve Gut, Ruud Brink, Jimmy Owens, Roger Guerin, Art Farmer, Lee Harper, Alain Jean-Marie, Steve Grossman, Ricky Ford, Ben Sidran, Pete Christlieb, James Spaulding, Benny Golson, Bireli Lagrene, Rich Perry, Jimmy Slyde, Chris Potter, Christof Lauer, Steve Swallow, Jon Hendricks, Randy Brecker, Bill Carrothers, Jon Gordon, Mark Murphy, Grant Stewart, Bob Mintzer, Barry Harris, Dick Oatts, Rick Margitza.He recorded more than 20 CD’s with different bands.
For several years he was member of the Michele Hendricks Quintet and
Sara Lazarus ( "Give me a Simple Life" Dreyfus-Sony, 2004).
He is also member of the Vintage Orchestra ( "Thad" Nocturne, 2004;
"Weatherman" Jazz aux Remparts, 2006 ).
