About Me

Nicola Andrioli was born in Brindisi 01/06/1977, son of art. He graduated in Classical and Jazz music. He becomes proficient in contemporary music and the repertoire of F. Chopin and Ravel. His passion for classical music becomes recognised in various International and National competitions. Later, he undertakes the road of Jazz, become more and more fascinated by the sense of freedom transmitted by this music and the ability to leave liberty in the inventiveness and personal compositions. He has obtained many important prizes:- - semifinalist to the Martial Solal jazz piano competition 2006 - semifinalist to the Montreaux piano jazz competition 2006 - Les Trophées du Sunside, Esprit Jazz (Sunset, Paris) Bucharest International Jazz Competition (Romania). September 2005 he receives the 2nd. Prize at the “Ethno-music Contest” in Milan. - 1st. prize section at the ‘Festival “Lecco Jazz 2001- Prize Stefano Cerri” - 1st. pianist prize in the “International Jazz Competition 2001 Friederich Gulda” Special acknowledgement at the contest “Prize Massimo Urbani 2003” -- He receives special acknowledgements from “Berklee School” (summer 2000, Umbria Jazz Clinics) - 2002 at Siena Jazz In this recent period he has studied with: George Cable, Russ Hoffmann, Kenny Barron, Barry Harris, ,Brian Dickinson, Mark Levine, Dave Liebman, Rick Margitza, Archie Sheep, Marc Turner, Joey Barron, Billy Hart, Henry Texier, Burry Guy,Daniel Humair,Michel Portal,Franco D’Andrea,Enrico Pieranunzi, Paulo Birro,Stefano Battaglia,Paulo Fresu,Enrico Rava,Furio di Castri,Riccardo del Frà,Hervè Sellin,GlenFerris,FrancoisTheberge,DrePaellemert,DiederickWi ssels. In 2005 he presents his trio with a rhythmical repertory at the International Contest of Jazz” Massimo Urbani” He also participates with the ‘Spoleto Vocal Jazz Workshop as collaborator for Michelle Hendricks, the singer. Composer of music for trio’s quartet’s and quintet’s, he has a great experience has a concert performer in all forms of configuration, from the piano to the big band. He played with: Rick Margitza,Roberto Gatto, Robert Bonisolo,John Betch, Ran Blake ,Fabrizio Bosso, Francesco Bearzatti, Maurizio Giammarco, Eric Vloeimans. Currently he lives between Italy, Bruxelles and Paris, where he is currently attending a course of perfection in the National Advanced Conservatory and participates in many musical activities in Italy and abroad.
