Hi, I'm Adrian Monk. I am a Homicide Detective who happens to have obsessive-compulsive disorder. It's a gift.....and a curse. After the tragic, still-unsolved murder of my wife, I developed an abnormal fear of germs, heights, crowds and virtually everything else, which provides an unusual challenge to me when solving crimes. My Wifes case is the only one which I have never solved and every spare minute I get I look over all the evidence and examine it to see if I can find a major break in the case. After I solved a crime for Dale the Whale, he told me something that I will never forget; he said that the man who built the bomb was in NY and if I wanted to know anything else I would have to go and visit him. So I took a trip to NY and found that I would have to hurry and visit him because he was dying and if we didn't hurry he wouldn't make it long enough in order for us to talk to him. I hated that man more than anything else in my life. The man I found was Warrick Tenison, and he was the one who made the bomb. He claimed he did not know one thing about him excpet he will never forget that he has six fingers on one of his hands. That is a major thing that could help me solve the case...thats where I am so far and I have never been the same after Trudy died. I will never be truly at peace until that murder is solved. My psychological disorder eventually cost me my position as a legendary homicide detective on the San Francisco Police Force, but I am still often brought in as a private consultant to help the cops solve their most baffling crimes. I did have a very good nurse, Sharona Flemming, who helped me get through my worst times. She had a husband at one time and he treated her terrible. Infact, one day he tried to act like he wanted her back and then tried to trick her into going back to New Jersey with him. He knew if he did that, his uncle would start supporting them financially. All of a sudden one day she decieded to move back to New Jersey with him despite the fact of how she had previously been treated. No one can ever replace her or her son Benji, he looked up to me and I will never forget them. I just hope that one day they will come back to San Fransisco and she will become my assistant once again. I have a new partner by the name of Natalie Teeger and she has a daughter. I met her while I was trying to solve a case for her and I realized that she would be a good nurse for me. No one could ever replace Sharona but Natalie will put up with me, and I actually like her.
