Originally from Adelaide, South Australia, Candice Monique is a talented and unique vocalist/songwriter/poet whose individual vocal and lyrical style fuses soul, neo-soul, jazz, rnb, funk, blues, folk and spoken word. It is this distinctive style along with her stage presence and artistic depth which makes her one of Australias most exciting and original new artists.
After recording her first Demo in Atlanta with producer Professor Griff (Public Enemy) in 2003 and more recently recording in Harlem, NYC in 2005 with Neo-Soul Producer Rich Medina (Jill Scott, Vassy). Candice Monique has returned to her new home in Melbourne and is writing and recording a debut EP @ Biscuit Brown Studios with her stunning five piece live band.
The band consists of:
Guitarist Mikey Chan (Phrase, Lotek, Nick Thayer, Jammination),
Drummer Ivan Khatchoyan (Tru Live, Beat Science, Cookin on 3 Burners),
Bassist Lucas Taranto (Mia Dyson, René Geyer, Gotye) and
Backing Vocalist Nadee (Diafrix).
