i am of the rolling hills and coast lines of aotearoa and outskirt suburbs of brisbane inner city empty car park poetic incision the guitar is my greatest redemption paper has been my saviour through it all call centre madness i write more lyrics than read law on a 19th century campus i am the product of a childhood rich with roberta flack and gladys knight and other divas my mother would leave us with weeknights and one sister equates to countless viscious verbal fights all siblings call names but she would put emcees to shame she was also my company in every quiet truth there was solitude bouncing on the bench of my papas truck deep in the country i followed the moon into the dark in the middle of nowhere i never felt lost no lollies in the glove box more like a broken hearted cowboy's cassette tape stash slow songs of old time and johnny cash and more music to feel the sun go down further than the horizon its no suprise the first chords i learnt were minors then with saturday morning sunlight heaven open them up to majors and throw on a seventh i learnt to play the blues eventually began humming my thoughts into tunes all the while making world tour plans staring into afternoon cartoons..
my imagination has unravelled longer than the miles i've travelled id rather walk than wait sing to my shoes and create so im usually late however seasons are not reasons to procrastinate it started somewhere here ive been in quiet lulls but painful shit heals and translates into something exciting now im unwinding a film reel projecting on screen what made me feel i earned hindsight and enjoy the precise burning of the light highschool gave me a heart thumping with hiphop 5 years later im on a melbourne pitstop new york is calling sometimes i feel like im stalling my mind races ahead mostly at 3 in the morning im learning instruments in sudamerica on a humid bay an old man with missing teeth entices me to stay and studio portfolios seem a world away then i see ms Lboogie meshell and floetry got a little bit of something im gonna get me via deeprooted history beautiful big fat dirty heart beats beneath fresh poetry immeasurable creative genius and international (dope) musical autonomy
