About Me

To start with, here's a quote from a review of my show published on fasterlouder.com.au, that says nice things!:
"Travis Marke opened the night with his unpretentious and often comical set. [He is] part musician, part kid’s music teacher, all charm".
..awww!
Now to my little spiel...
Travis is 1 part poet, 1 part raspy whistling songster, and 1 part jubilant storyteller of the everyday.
Travis spent several years as co-songwriter with the much loved, now retired Melbourne hip hop and roots outfit, my big friend, who played alongside the likes of Bomba, Symbiosis and Endorphin. The my big friend experience saw Travis drumming and MC'ing on stages such as First Floor, Laundry, The Espy, The Empress and 303.
Since then, Travis has played a steady stream of shows as a solo performer, including a career launch show with Bonjah and Triple J faves, Polaroid Fame, as well as the highly successful Pleased To Meet You Tour '08 alongside Jess Harlen (ex-Blue King Brown) and Simon Asquith.
The tour saw audiences countrywide excited by the infectiously charismatic and highly original combination of harmonica, kazoo and witty lyricism, Travis uses to create his upbeat folk and hip-hop styled music.
Delivered with just the right combination of wit, banter and sincerity, his songs, soon to be given a home on his upcoming debut album blueprint to save the world, stand alone as they weave a new soundtrack to the everyday human experience.
