Simone Gill

recording debut album May-June 2009

About Me

Simone Gill performs original soul-rnb-pop around home town Melbourne. From soulful and introspective ballads to lively rnb tunes featuring elements of blues, funk and jazz, Simones compositions are given vibrancy as she combines with accomplished Melbourne musos Jaimi Faulkner (guitar), Luke Hodgson (bass) and Graeme Pogson (drums). The tracks here feature the talented Megan Bernard on piano ["On hold for love" and "wash it away" and Nat Bartsch ["Xuan Lan" and "what will it be"])Based on everyday experiences, Simone hopes to engage the listener with her music's honesty and openness.Simone has recently performed at Veludo, Ruby's Lounge, Bar Nancy, Elwood Lounge, George bar and many others and is preparing to record her debut album in early 2009.

"Xuan Lan" - "Spring flower"

"Xuan Lan" means Spring flower in Vietnamese. I wrote this song in 2007 for my gorgeous niece Madeleine... Hope you enjoy it.
