What's up with the National Youth and Student Peace Coalition:
The World Says NO to the Israeli Occupation
June 10-12, DC
United for Peace and Justice National Assembly
June 22-24, Chicago The National Assembly will be more than 2 days of meetings, workshops, breakout groups and plenary sessions designed to maximize discussion, sharing, and the process of collective thinking and planning. In addition to strategic planning and setting programmatic direction, the Assembly will elect the new national steering committee of UFPJ and review the structure of the coalition. The Assembly is one of the rare opportunities for activists from around the country to share their experiences, learn from one another and work together to help develop national plans. Check out NYSPC events while you're there!
United States Social Forum
June 27-July 1, Atlanta, GA
The US Social Forum is more than a conference, more than a networking bonanza, more than a reaction to war and repression. The USSF will provide space to build relationships, learn from each other's experiences, share our analysis of the problems our communities face, and bring renewed insight and inspiration. It will help develop leadership and develop consciousness, vision, and strategy needed to realize another world. The USSF sends a message to other people’s movements around the world that there is an active movement in the US opposing US Policies at home and abroad.
NYSPC and member organizations will have a presence at USSF in the youth tent and various workshops, so come join us to build a stronger global movement for peace and justice!
A Young People's Agenda NYSPC has teamed up with a broad range of other youth organizations to develop a unified 'youth agenda' to coordinate our efforts and make the connections between our issues. Check it out here !
