My Interests

The Southwest Workers' Union (SWU) is an 20 year-old non-profit grassroots organization of independent grassroots groups of low-wage workers, youth, community residents and activists, united in one organizational struggle for youth justice, environmental justice, worker rights, and community leadership and empowerment. The SWU mission is to empower grassroots People of Color, youth and other poor communities of low-income workers and residents through education, leadership development, training, and direct organizing to have a voice in the decision-making process at the local, state and federal levels. SWU strives to build self-sustainable membership-based organizations, youth leadership and network to gain power and achieve a safe environment, sustainable communities and a workplace with livable wages, dignity and justice.
