About Me

Hello! I am presently working as an artist in my spare time. I have a studio in rural North Norfolk, where the view is fabulous and the light is fantastic. I feel very fortunate to live in this part of the country. I trained as a Graphic Designer, although I only followed that career for three years (stopped work to get married!) I am single now and work full time in an unrelated job but have continued to practice art as much as I can. I have worked and exhibited widely in the batik medium and have been a colourist of antique prints for many years. I've also been commissioned to do Fore Edge paintings. I designed for Liberty and more recently Moorcroft Pottery. My work is mostly stylised Art Nouveau. It is an era which I feel a great familiarity with and passion for. My subjects are floral and some landscapes. Having been a colourist of antique prints for many years I am very comfortable with the medium of watercolour. I am not afraid to tackle large paintings and will be happy to undertake commissions of any floral subject.I am sure that my work will appeal to any Art Nouveau lovers who are looking for the right kind of painting to fit in with any collection of furniture etc. from that period. Arty people, Arty farty people, Acoustic Alchemy and anything else beginning with 'A'!!! (with some exceptions). Exciting pottery. I collect pottery which my father designed in the sixties. W.German pottery from the mid century. I also like to find Art Nouveau and Arts&Crafts pottery going for a song on the 'bay' and anything else from that era too. I LOVE Arts&Crafts furniture, metalware and art. Interested in painting stylised Art Nouveau pictures for people who share my passion. I do like cats, especially Siamese and Rex, but don't have one now.

I like costume from the turn of the century and if I had the resources I would be very flamboyant and dress that way ( come on...I am a Leo !!). Nature. Photography. Food. Men with the sense to grow a Cavalier moustache. Men who play the piano. Foredge paintings...magical! Being creative. Fabulous Silks, Houndstooth and Herringbone. The Norfolk landscape. I love old fashioned writing, caligraphy of any type. Green. The smell of WD40. My birthday, which I share with my twin and Robert Redford.

I'd like to meet:

Artist: Emile Aubry

Artists. Christie Repasy who painted this picture. Creative people. Comedians or just funny people. Artistic, creative, single, intelligent, attractive men about my age. Acoustic Alchemy. Anyone interested in buying my work or commissioning me. The 'nasty man' ( for it surely must have been a man!!) who invented the new Tampax applicator with the sharp pointy bits... I would teach him a lesson. Girls everywhere, you must be with me on this one? ...and moving on...Steve Martin. But not right now because I'm not quite ready..got to lose a few pounds, shave my legs etc, have a bath, dye my hair, pluck my eyebrows, paint my nails, hoover and clean, change the sheets, put out fresh flowers, cook dinner put on some cool jazz (AA) and open the wine. After all that, I might just have a headache... Bring a paracetamol Steve!
Please, if you want to add me, jot me a little note as I do like to know where you found me and why you are interested in adding me?

Music:

Acoustic Alchemy and other Jazz, Classical, some pop, gentle, melodic, intelligent and structured music really. Absolutely any piano. I am very envious of people who can play piano. Balam, Jeff Beck, Santana and Tom Toomey, Esperanza....etc. and of course my daughter's band www.myspace.com/barnyardmasturbator)She is the 'Dred'full drummer!! She rocks, bangs, crashes and makes loads of noise. She is an artist too.

Movies:

Entertaining mostly. Humorous and bright. I love Steve Martin in everything he does. Marks out of ten...I'd give him 'one'. Any film with a soundtrack by Thomas Newman. Always appreciate the creative work in films. Love period costume dramas and appreciate the effort which goes into making them.

Television:

Oh... that box in the corner? Don't use it much. Prefer to use this box! Am very selective if I watch it at all. Would rather be doing something creative and listening to music.

Books:

I love reading but....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Who is going to invent the electronic book/screen which you pull down from your headboard and don't have to hold? Just touch the screen to turn pages, flick a switch to turn it off etc.. or even better..voice command, yessss! Well, come..onnnnnn somebody??

Heroes:

Rolf Harris. My TomTom. And of course this Tom, without whom myspace would be a space!

...and Daffy ! My Dad..Potter. My Mum..Artist. They gave me the genes.

Secret jigsaw lover?......Step inside!

I thought this would be a nice way of frittering time away when myspace is deserted. It could be addictive for those of us who own up to being JPA members. http://www.jigzone.com/puzzles/B7055D4CE43E...
