What is art without an audience?

About Me

Attention all vector artists. I would like to share with you some of my own vector images that I've accumilated over the years. It has served me well and I can only hope that they will serve you. I've spent 1000's of hours creating these unique images for various projects. My hard work can be yours through youworkforthem.com . The time you'll save by using these elements will pay for itself in no time. Please take a few moments to see my collection and the collections of other talented artists .
Since many people message me regarding how I create my images, I may as well explain it here. =)
1) I would reference a photograph, magazine clipping or just a cool profile picture on myspace. Don't worry, if you're concern about me referencing an image of you, I ALWAYS ask for permission first. Simple artistic integrity.
2) I would take the image into Adobe Illustrator and manually trace the image. I would then print it out the raw linework and then sketch on it with a mechanical pencil. This helps me create more fluid curves and a personal touch.
3) I would then scan in the sketch and trace on top of the new lines I created with the mechanical pencil.
4) Finally when I'm happy with the linework, I would then flatten everything and start plugging in colors. It takes awhile for me to get the colors right. It's fun yet tedious.
5) Now that the portrait is completed, I need to consider the background. I don't normally plan the background. It's freestyle since it's usually abstract. The background is fun because I'm not too critical on what looks right or wrong. It's more about what flows or what's fresh and new.
6) Then I would plug in the colors for the background. I would normally choose monotone colors or a complimentary colors for the background. Ultimately it's what looks right to me. I don't exactly have a formula.
7) 10-30 hours later....I'm done. I would encourage whoever is following my steps to experiment because I personally change it up all the time too. You never know what cool process you'll come up with. It's also very important to find your own artistic voice. I'm sure you all understand. =)

ABOUT ME
: I like spending lots of time creating art. It's not the easiest thing to do, but that's part of the pleasure. To struggle and to finally come to a point in the process when I have to make a decision to declare that it's complete. I'm never completely happy with the end result, but I'm sure most artist feel the same way. I'm a perfectionist and living in an imperfect world makes it quite tough to achieve perfection through my art. I love to eat...my favorite food is dumpling. I swear I can eat only dumplings for the rest of my life that and would be fine by me. I also love animals that's why I have a World Wildlife Fund credit card where all the proceeds will be donated to them. I also donate cash to WWF...gotta love the animals. So to sum it up, I spend most of time creating art or eating. Not too bad huh?

My Interests

ART ART and more ART! I love art supplies. When I go into an art store I feel like a kid in a candy shop. I want everything. If I can manage to purchase everything I need and stuff I don't need, I would do it. Aside from that, I'm constantly on the search for the perfect music to listen to while I work on some art. Currently, Mark Farina, DJ Krush, and Pete Rock are in heavy rotation. It's the downtempo relax beats and jazz influence that I'm feelin'. I like to collect stuff...random stuff like business cards, movie tickets, beer labels, magazines, music...and the list goes on. I'm kinda anal like that. ::shrugs:: What are you gonna do right? I love all kinds of animals. They're just so fascinating. I encourage whoever is reading this to check this website out and possibly purchase the DVD if they still have any in stock. It'll totally blow your mind and anger you at the same time. It shows how inhuman, inconsiderate, brutal, and unjustified way we treat animals.www.isawearthlings.com

I'd like to meet:

At the moment, I am very interested in meeting curators/galleries who would like to exhibit some of my work. Please message me so we can start working together. =)If you're cool, you're cool...what can I say. I think it'll be a huge bonus if you were into some kind of visual arts. Someone philosophical, down to earth, and just chill. Over anxious people get on my nerves. I'm already a very uptight person, so I need to surround myself with people that are very positive, relaxed and chill. I enjoy having deep conversations with people or just conversations that challenges my current beliefs and way of thinking. In my opinion, people are just too caught up with the hustle of real life. I'm like that too, but I have to constantly remind myself to step back, relax, and enjoy whatever is around. Why stress over things? I want to surround myself with people that are positive, that brings out the best in each other, and most importantly encourage each other to strive for more. Go beyond our boundaries. The sky isn't the limit...there are no limits. Only limits we place onto ourselves. Trust me, it's a lot easier said than done. So chill/positive people out there...let's get together.
