The Ji Project

The Ji Project represents a musical hope of unity for the future of humanity, a project that is deeply rooted in the concept of brotherhood, and spiritual fraternity. The word “ji” is used in the context of addressing one another in a common union and it’s in that spirit that Enzo Buono assembled a group of musicians and engineers from around the globe including some incredibly talented singers from India to create the beauty of The Ji Project. The recording flows like a river of inspiration from concept to manifestation, on tracks like “Bhavani” where they blend the seductive strings and strains of tango with tantra. The Ji Project is full of other gems as well, from the down tempo devotion of “Guru,” to the soaring orchestral prayer, “Peace.” Buono and his fellow Ji projectors have crafted a jewel of shimmering global grooves. It’s uplifting and cool in an urban and sophisticated sense, in a way that it defies categorization, bringing a wide tapestry of talent together from different countries and spiritual traditions, but if any one phrase might begin to speak to the place that it arrives at, it would be, “Samadhi Soul.”
