About Me

Green Yoga Association

Our goal is to widen the circle of Yoga practitioners who are seeking and finding ways to honor and care for the Earth as an essential part of Yoga.

We believe that Yoga practitioners have great potential to be a force for positive change.

Did you ever wish you could
stop your junk mail -- and the
needless waste of trees, water and energy?
We've found an easy way for you do just that - and raise money for the Green Yoga Association!

For only $41, the 41 Pounds service will contact 20-35 direct mail companies to remove your name from their distribution lists. This includes almost all credit card applications, coupon mailers, sweepstakes entries, magazine offers and insurance promotions, as well as any catalogs you specify.
The service reduces your junk mail by 80 - 95% for the next five years ? and donates $15 to the Green Yoga Association.
41 Pounds does all the leg-work while we: Save trees. More than 100 million trees are destroyed each year to produce junk mail. 42% of timber harvested nationwide becomes pulpwood for paper. Reduce global warming. The energy used to produce and dispose of junk mail exceeds 2.8 million cars. Save water. About 28 billion gallons of water are wasted to produce and recycle junk each year. Save time. You waste about 8 hours a year dealing with junk mail.

It's that simple! Sign up at www.41pounds.org/greenyoga or call 866-417-4141 right away!

My Interests

I'm a Hippie Yogi!

A Hippie Yogi

When you're not doing yoga or marching in protests, you divide your time between hugging trees and flashing peace signs at people you don't know. You truly care about the world around you and take action to make it a better place for everyone to enjoy--including your furry friends. You're warm, welcoming, and a lot of fun.

Be careful, however, not to let your dedication to your cause alone determine your actions--take time for yourself every now and then, too. Everything in moderation will make you more balanced in your yoga practice and in your life.

I'm a Yoga Trend Snob!

A Yoga Trend Snob

You appreciate the finer things in life—and you're willing to pay for them. You have the best "yoga butt" around, which fills your designer yoga pants to perfection. You spare no expense on souvenirs that remind you of your love for yoga. You acknowledge you are a spark of the divine, and you take care of yourself accordingly.

But your preoccupation with appearances might be hindering your growth. Keep practicing. A whole new dimension of yoga will reveal itself to you in time, and you'll realize you don't need to spend money to be fulfilled.

I'm a Yoga School Snob!

A Yoga School Snob

If your yoga school had a grading scale you'd make straight As. You've found a yoga style that resonates with you, so you devour every morsel of information that comes from your teachers' lips and apply it to your practice. You've read all the books, twice. You put your mat down in the same place in every class, and your best friends are all the people who put their mats down beside yours (they're yoga geeks, too).

But be mindful not to leave others out of your unique community. Beginning students and followers of other yoga disciplines have a lot to offer, too. Welcome them warmly, and keep an open mind about what you can glean from a new perspective.

I'm a Spiritual Snob!

A Spiritual Snob

You meditate. You chant. You wear your spirituality on your sleeve. You would never set foot in a yoga class designed for physical fitness alone. You practice yoga to get closer to God. Your devotion, or bhakti yoga practice, inspires and uplifts most that come into contact with you.

Unfortunately, those who are only beginning their spiritual journeys may not understand the language you use, and may become frustrated or confused by it. Make a special effort to be friendly and accessible to all who enter your presence--not just those who share your spiritual convictions--so more people can benefit from your constant soul-searching

I'd like to meet:

Yoga practitioners who care about the planet.

Yoga teachers who are seeking support in their teaching of reverance for life on earth.

Environmental activists needing to de-stress from their hard work.
