My Interests

Comedy, movies, music, kittens on trampolines

I'd like to meet:

Like-minded & funny folk, Joseph Merrick and Samuel Beckett, myself in a parallel universe. Oh - and of course - Kate Winslet (sigh!)

Music:

Eels, Misty's Big Adventure, Lily Fraser, Micah P. Hinson, David Ford, Gomez, Weezer, Kate Bush, Kermit the Frog, (Rainbow Connection is possibly the sweetest & most heartlifting ditty ever written - discuss) Mary Chapin Carpenter, the Polyphonic Spree, the Monkees, the Smiths, Springsteen, Squeeze, (perfect 3 min kitchen sink dramas) and soooooooooo many more too numerous & diverse to mention...
I made this MySpace Music Player at MyFlashFetish .com.

Movies:

Sideways, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Amelie, Jaws (to name but four...) Donnie Darko, Napoleon Dynamite, So I Married an Axe Murderer (& any movie with great views of San Francisco - a place I love), When Harry Met Sally (to name but four more...) And in no particular order - The Shawshank Redemption, Cinema Paradiso, Butch & Sundance, Raiders of the Lost Ark, This Is Spinal Tap, Flying Daggers, Howl's Moving Castle, Fight Club, Grosse Pointe Blank, Garden State, the Leningrad Cowboys Go America, anything by the genius that is Terry Gilliam, bit of a sap for certain (good) rom coms & a clutch of really dumb but funny movies (Bill & Ted, Anchorman, the Airplanes, Austin Powers) old skool Star Wars, Little Miss Sunshine...

Television:

TV is the spawn of Satan - an implement of mind control where-by world powers manipulate us and keep we citizens in a passive, zombiefied state... Arrested Development is bloody good though. And if pushed - Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Spaced, Blackadder, Frasier, The Mighty Boosh, Nighty Night, Scrubs, Marion & Geoff (howling with laughter one minute - with tears the next - genius!) My Name is Earl, Nathan Barley, (I feel like Dan Ashcroft nearly every day of my life...) Green Wing...

Books:

Hitch-hikers Guide(s), Frankenstein, Dorian Gray, The True History of the Elephant Man, Homer H. Hickam's Rocket Boys, John Irving, To Kill A Mocking Bird - though mainly biogs & autobiogs. And anything on Jack the Ripper (wuhuhuh!)

Heroes:

Bill Hicks, Eddie Izzard, Steve Martin (anything pre-Parenthood), Laurel & Hardy, Peter Cook, Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, Eric Morecambe, Douglas Adams, Tommy Cooper, Frankie Howerd, Han Solo, Indiana Jones, my kids...

Radio Blah Blah

Yesterday came word that my current project is not to be extended past it's sell-by date as the client will take back in-house to save pennies. This has led to the political do-si-do-ing of certain m...

’How’s My Warming?’

Mention of the surname Dimmock in the UK is likely to evoke fond mammaries among the male contingent, of bra-less wonder Charlie - the outspoken country lass on Alan Titmarsh's (sic) Ground Force tea...

More Tea, Kyrenza?...

Today's blog title has been inspired by the recent tea-fuelled musings of titular (matron!) myspacer. Brew on, my friend! I put faith in the healing powers of tea the way that the medical profession...

Dee-Railed

Randomly musing whilst winding my weary way home this eve, I recalled a bygone era when I was known as 'Dee'. Sadly this does not herald titillating tales of fancy-pants cross-dressing, more t'was th...

LegoAss

I started the morning hot and wet - neither in a good way. I'd battled my way to Docklands through inclement weather that turned pavements into rivers and my flapping overcoat into a sodden shroud. T...

Tom Waits For No Man

I hit Snooze at 6:50am. I could allow myself 5 more minutes. Someone must have kicked out the power cord to my mental alarm clock as next I knew I was hurling myself at the shower at 7:28am. Godliness...

Lost Boys Weekend

So this weekend was Joshi's early birthday treat, a scaffold of delights built around the central premise of taking him to the Lord of the Rings musical without the tuneful protestations of his young...

Seeking Bra Work

I've decided that my life has in it an undeniable lack of bra's. And if there's one thing I really really like, it's bra's. True, I have the good fortune not to have the absolute necessity for a bra....
