I was once used as a “hired gun†by rock musicians who wanted to beef up their sound on tour. I played with virtually every impor tant rock band that ever toured. Unfortunately for me, my stints with each band were short lived. This is because I would get so excited while playing my banjo solos that I would “flop†backwards onto the floor. This almost always led to injury. As a result, I was forced to leave the line-up, and of course, never get paid. Hence me being broke and my slightly tattered “hobo†appearance and has contributed to my “sad†demeanor.But more importantly, my untimely departure forced photographers to doctor any photos they had taken that had me in them! That’s right, they removed me from the pictures! This may sound shocking, but it’s also completely understandable. This was the only way they could sell their photos to media outlets who always demand photos that are “up-to-date.†But the tragic result is that my contribution has not gotten proper recognition. :(
