About Me

|Keyboardist, Vocalist and Composer Mark Gleed is a founding member of the Los Angeles-based Progressive Rock group SOMA, currently recording a new CD featuring Guy Eckstine, Allan Holdsworth, and Tony Levin. He also is an accomplished Music Producer, Photographer, Illustrator, Graphic Designer and Art Director. He has designed numerous CD covers for independent labels, major labels and Bill Graham Productions... including for Grammy Award Winner HUBERT LAWS/"Moondance", Grammy Award Nominee ALLAN HOLDSWORTH/"The Sixteen Men Of Tain" and "Against The Clock", JANE GETTER/"See Jane Run" and numerous covers for the bands ROLLOVER and SOMA, among others. He has also over the years designed numerous corporate logos, has letterhead designs published in over 60 countries, has hand drawn concert posters for local Los Angeles and Chicago bands and is working on a book of laser manipulated photographs he has taken in the Amazon Jungle and of the Incan ruins at Machu Pichu in the Andes Mountains of Peru. An Aquarian, Mark was born on January 24th in Lake Forest, Illinois and is a graduate of the University of Southern California Film and Television School. He also has a BA in Journalism from USC and conducted post-graduate studies at UCLA, UCNorthridge, UCFullerton and Otis Parsons Los Angeles. He is also is a graduate of the Record Engineering program at the Sherwood Oaks Experimental College in Hollywood.
