About Me

Jennifer Dekorah Lee is an introspective singer/songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, compared vocally to Paula Cole, Natalie Merchant and Sarah MacLachlan, known for her signature haunting ballads, captivating harmonies and explosive tribal world rock inspired by such artists as Peter Gabriel and Sheila Chandra.
She is currently performing her originals in Wisconsin, and has performed in New York City, Austin & Nashville. She often performs solo acoustic shows, accompanying herself with piano and guitar. She also has an all-female backing band - THE DEKORAH LEE PROJECT - with some of the Midwest’s most accomplished and talented musicians. Current members include Leigh Ann Holmes on guitar/vocals, drummer extraordinaire PamAlaMode of Bad Medicine and Artemis on drums and world percussion, and special guest Caroline Miller on harmony vocals.
Jennifer writes about themes such as unconditional love, forgiveness, sorrow, triumph over adversity, feeling safe in a troubled world, time-travel, soul-retrieval, heartache, inner demons, inner strength, and un-faltering hope.
She is also a founding member and frequent performer of MASA – Milwaukee Area Songwriter’s Alliance. Jennifer participated in the nationally renowned showcase – "CHICK SINGER NIGHT" – and performed her original music. Jennifer has had extensive experience and performance in classical choirs. She also has sang and acted with the Milwaukee Rock Theatre performing rock musicals such as HAIR, TOMMY by THE WHO, and DARK SIDE OF THE MOON by PINK FLOYD.
She is also an avid film enthusiast and participant, with roles in Broken Orbit and NEW DAY by Jason Williams and R. Michael Gull, playing a musician. {She also has her song BEAUTIFUL on the movie soundtrack}. In June 2009, she acted in the 48 Hour Film Festival with Status Pictures, director Sean Tepper.
Jennifer is available for your private event providing background piano music with/without vocals. She also has several acoustic duos. MOONSTONE with Leigh Ann Holmes and RADIANT BLUE with Caroline Miller.
