... "SARAH CLASS is one of Britains brightest young musical stars. Her style is both hauntingly ethereal and sensual, mingling folky influences and a powerfully romantic blend of orchestral and electronic sonorities.."
(HMV Classical Reviews Magazine).
EMMY-nominated singer, songwriter, and composer Sarah Class brings an astonishing scope of talents and experience to her solo debut album, A NEW DAWN, an exciting collection of diverse new material combining acoustic folk/pop elements with the lush harmonies and sweeping melodies that have made her one of Britains most sought-after young composers.
Performing as a vocalist and pianist in bands since she was a teenager, Sarah graduated with a BA (with Honors) in music from Chichester University Sussex, England. Immediately thereafter, she began to write extensively in Europe and North America on a number of album, TV and film projects, notably, the score for the independent feature The Weekend starring GINA ROWLANDS and BROOK SHEILDS. This brought Sarahs talents to the attention of legendary producer SIR GEORGE MARTIN, who took her under the wing of his company GEORGE MARTIN MUSIC.
Soon thereafter, Sarah wrote and produced the WARNER CLASSICS recording of AURORA, performed by the acclaimed choral group, CANTAMUS. The album enjoyed a lengthy Top 5 status in the UK and earned a Classical BRIT nomination for BEST ALBUM.
Sarahs songs and arrangements are also featured on the triple platinum album PURE by Decca artist HAYLEY WESTENRA. Sarah wrote two tracks, including ACROSS THE UNIVERSE of TIME, which was the title track on the European release, and which enjoyed enormous radio-play across the continent, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia. She also co-produced that song with Giles Martin.
Balancing her passions for both writing and performing, Sarah has recently toured and recorded with Helen J. Hicks band The HONEYRIDERS, playing jazz piano and vocals on the Decca Classics and Jazz release which included performances at Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club, Pizza Express Dean Street and the Cannes Film Festival. She also toured through Europe as keyboard player with the Senegalese group SUUF, who released their debut world-music album on the BBC Late Junction label.
While working for the last many months in Los Angeles with a team of gifted musicians and producers on A NEW DAWN, Sarahs also continued to collaborate with the highly talented, singer/composer Eurovision song contest-winner EIMEAR QUINN, an artist brought to her by Sir George Martin, on an exciting new project currently in production.
