..Music is just as essential a way of communication for me as words. I started learning music notation at the same time as the alphabet. As a young child I did not enjoy taking piano lessons and practising scales while my peers were having fun on the playground. I am grateful that my parents made me persist with my musical education - it turned out to be very useful. I have always loved singing and I can still recall myself holding up a TV remote controller, wearing my dad’s huge headphones, and pretending I was in a recording studio - just like it was yesterday... Songs that I write are very genuine and emotional. I feel the constant need to ponder over my existence as a musician, a woman, a friend, a sister, a daughter... Despite the differences, we all go through anger, happiness, love, pain, fulfilment or disappointment... And music lets me connect with and express those and other emotions.
