Ned Rouse was born in Sparta, Michigan and spent his whole life living in the Grand Rapids area. He was always active in the fine arts and the playing of music. He has writen music since he was 8 years old. Ned played or participated with the bands Hash, ABM, Stroke, The Ungrateful Bastards, Bullseye, The Cosmic Reefer Symphony Orchestra, Temple, Barbazoonka, Earth Route, Crowd Control, Monitor, Euphoria, Route 3, Stagger Bush Band, and lastly, Complaint Dept. Over the years he also took time to produce commercials, score, and act in local films. He has also worked clubs as a solo act and songwriter for others around the local music scene. He can play many different intstruments.
Ned retired from touring and bar music in the mid 90's. He pursued photography while songwriting and woodcarving. His photo work has appeared in several national publications, radio websites, and on his own, banjowheat.com and MySpace websites. He feels most of what mainstream music offers, is kiddie music, written for dancers who happen to sing, for people to dance to, who cannot dance! Over the past years he began recording again. Ned Rouse's CD's are his collections of what he calls "reports."
