Kams Palace

About Me

Kams Palace was formed in June 2005 and played their first gig to a muddy but excited crowd at Glastonbury Festival's "Jazz Lounge". Since then they have written and recorded a collection of pieces and performed them in venues around the country to great acclaim.
The members are:
Kevin Glasgow (bass) from Edinburgh specialises in modern jazz, bebop and funk. He has performed at Shetland Folk festival, Ronnie Scotts and on BBC Radio Three.
Alex Hutchings (guitar) from Bristol has extensive experience playing rock, funk jazz and r'n'b. He has toured throughout the UK, Europe and South Africa. He also composes music for BBC TV and radio.
Matthew Jones (drums), also from Bristol, plays rock, ska/reggae, funk and jazz. He has toured in the UK, Europe and Africa.
Review of the Jazz Lounge performance:
"...the badass fusion of awesome guitar player Alex Hutchings and his project. Astonishing playing ensued from all of them but star of the show for me (as a fellow bassist) was 22-year-old Edinburgh bassist Kevin Glasgow. Soloing with amazing command of his six string bass, the crowd whooped as he went into overdrive, delivering some of the night's most audacious chops."
Mike Flynn (Jazzwise Magazine)
Credits include: Joe Locke, Clark Tracy, Massive Attack, Alan Barnes, Lynden David Hall, Geoffrey Oryema, Mornington Lockett, Pee Wee Ellis...
