These recordings highlight some of my new compositions, played by some of the west country's finest and recorded in Jeff Spencer's place. I live and work around Bristol, teaching guitar and playing live whenever I can. This includes the function band Vegas who play around the South West as well as more creative projects and original writers. We are lucky to have a creative scene and plenty of excellent players doing their thing.I learned a lot about bebop by playing in the states for a year at the University of South Carolina, playing in a trio with the great rhythm section of Andy Preston and John Glancy. At that time we were lucky enough to score a few gigs with a legendary saxophonist called Chris Potter...the experience pushed me headlong into playing improvised music.Recently I've had another education playing with the Pee Wee Ellis Assembly, both in the UK and in Europe. Playing with Pee Wee and the great trombonist Fred Wesley has been a real highlight.I have also worked with Andy Sheppard, Geoff Barrow, Elliott Randall, Ronan Keating, Sir David Attenborough, Clare Teal, Zoot Money , Kenny Lynch, Boz Burrell, Michael Mondesir, Ruby Turner, and Geoffrey Oryema.This includes appearances at the Glastonbury Festival, The North Sea Jazz Festival, The Brecon Jazz Festival, The Edinburgh Festival, the Montreaux Jazz Festival and the Ashton Court Festival as well as a support slot for Van Morrison in 2005.I have also recorded for Radio 2 and various BBC West productions, and Kenny Lynch
