LONG story REAL short ... One day in the middle of speeliing (sic) class Matz thinks to self "...gee what the hell... why not?" and so starts this musical journey. Many private lessons, bruised and bloodied fingers and then it's off to study Jazz and Classical formally and expensively. However, enroute Matz happily ends up on the road in a hard rock, power blues band(s), name(s) of which conveniently elude him, besides all parties are either deceased, in witness protection pgms, convicted or otherwise debilitated. Bloody excellent!! This is the Van Halen Era which makes me old enuf to be your aunty. Then the '80s; and Matz is now into early and expensive geekwear i.e. computer technology, guitar synthesis, and recording studios in the garage, basement and otherwise. Various projects ensue from Glam to Hair acts culminating in several indie power rock, heavy metal bands, namely; Hung Jury and Burning Freud. Which brings us thru the '90s. Guitar shredding is replaced by forays into flamenco, dobro, texas long horn, fusion and even country stylings, with influences such as Chris Whitley, NIN to Kings X. Digital and software based now is Matz. Good heavens and multiple projects are occurring as we read. Does Matz ever tire?? Na he'll rest later ... maybe .... Disclaimer: some hyperbole but no musicians were harmed.
