Mysti Vine: The World's Only Black Burlesque Comedienne...probably

About Me

See 'Interests' for Mysti's ActsMysti Vine shimmied onto the burlesque scene in 2001 in Vancouver, BC Canada and she’s managed to embody the true spirit of burlesque utilizing her background filled with dance, theatre and comedy. As a result, she’s one of the few burlesque acts that can actively engage her audience. Truly irreverent, always entertaining and spontaneous not to mention downright saucy, Mysti has managed to electrify (and sometimes terrify) unsuspecting audiences. As if that’s not enough, Mysti is an accomplished stand-up comedian and can also compére. In 2004, she moved to London to take advantage of the weather and consequently has performed all over the UK , Ireland, The Netherlands and the Middle East! You’ll laugh, you may be frightened, you’ll unquestionably be titillated but you will most definitely not be bored when you see Mysti in action!PERFORMANCES Vaudevixens Blues & Burlesque - Volupte Blues & Buns - Volupte Edenism - London Volupte - London Jo King - London White Mischief - London Time for Tease – Afternoon Tease Candybox – Birmingham Ruby Slipper, Loungelover – London Corporate Host, Claridges – London Club Ciccionina – Delft – The NetherlandsFESTIVALS Bestival 2007/2008 Camp Bestival 2008 The Big Chill 2008 Edinburgh Festival Fringe – Tease with a Twist 2007..

My Interests

Mysti Vine’s ActsStriptease:– dressed as a tribute to Mae West in a full-length magenta coloured glamorous mermaid-style gown dotted with Swarovski stones topped with an elaborately feathered hat, she proceeds to slink sultrily around the room and perform a sassy striptease with lots of audience participation!Balloon Pop 1:– Balloon popping will never be the same way once Mysti gets through with it. Armed with a saucy smile, a bejewelled feather, covered in heart-shaped balloons, she sashays through the crowd and comically pops each one in a hail of glitter. It most certainly is NOT so quiet!Balloon Pop 2:- On the Good Ship Lollipop – Arrrrr maties! Pirate balloons, stockings, suspenders, red sequins & Shirley Temple?! Yes, it has to be seen to be believed! Performed at the Time for Tease tent at Bestival 2007 and went down a storm!Shadow Burlesque:- Even racier than straight striptease, Mysti performs a cheeky striptease behind, a back-lit screen which, in keeping with the laws of today and yesterday, allows for her to get right down to the full monty. This act is not to be missed!Hilda the Cleaning Lady: Always a crowd pleaser, Hilda is cleaning up after an act and is told that the expected act isn’t there and Hilda needs to ‘go on’. Laughter and hilarity ensue when Hilda decides to give it her all. Of course, the surprise is in what ends up being her ‘all’. (Hilda can also be hired at an hourly rate as your greeter at your special event.)Non-Traditional Fan Dance:- Black feathery plumes glide through the air weaving a spell of magic (with sparkles). As always, with Mysti, you can expect the unexpected! In These Shoes?!:- Wherever this act is performed, it most definitely is a crowd-pleaser. A perfect mix of glamour, glitter and good-humour.Aloha Oy!: From the Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific watch Mysti perform a delightful(albeit hilarious) hula right in front of your eyes. An unusual twist on a traditional dance. The V-stume:- This is a must see act! Not for the faint of heart or the very prude. Although very blue, very, very funny. The V-stume has been onstage for a month at the Edinburgh Festival in 2007, and currently hosts a monthly show called the Vaudevixens. You’ll be surprised, shocked...and delighted and you might just learn a thing or two.Mysti Vine & Buck Svizz A somewhat twisted take on an old favourite - a familiar tune, a familiar story - boy meets girl at a bar; get ready for the explosive ending! You'll be laughing yourself silly.Mysti has a ever-ready arsenal of striptease acts and there are many other acts still in development. Mysti can also create bespoke performances for corporate entertainment, & private parties. Please email [email protected] to hire Mysti and give your next event a little something extra!
