I'm somewhat partial to the following: Musicals; shoes; hats; rock and roll; glamour; burlesque; vintage clothing; daydreaming; flowers; glittery things; popular culture; bad movies; good movies; Rita Hayworth, Audrey Hepburn, Gene Kelly and pretty much any other vintage movie star you can think of; dodgy pop music; webweaving; journo things; dyeing my hair to within an inch of its life; talking to my cats; gazing at all my beautiful shoes; taking pictures of trivial but fun things; filming at burlesque/cabaret shows; sweeties; making lists; putting things in alphabetical order (except this list); ice cream; meeting new folk who inspire me, cheer me, encourage me and generally seem to like me; making crap pressies for lovely friends; singing along to showtunes (alone, because I can't sing and don't want to inflict pain on those around me); going to the cinema on my own; watching too much telly; fixing everyone's spelling and grammar mistakes.
I generally only associate with the fabulous and talented - so more of the same please. They may include (but are not exclusively) actors, dancers, designers, musicians, magicians, photographers, webweavers and girls who take off their clothes in the name of entertainment...

Generally, I will pretty much dabble with anything and have fairly low standards. I like: camp nonsense (Geri/Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, Kylie, STEPS, Bonnie Tyler, Donna Summer, Jimmy Somerville, Marc Almond/Soft Cell, Britney/Christina, Erasure, showtunes); 50s and 60s (Buddy Holly, 60s girl groups, Dusty Springfield, Kinks, Mamas and the Papas); deeply uncool rock (ELO, Terrorvision, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Aerosmith, Foo Fighters); fabulous divas (Dolly Parton, Olivia Newton-John, Barbra Streisand, Judy Garland, Julie London, Rachel Sweet, kd lang, Natalie Imbruglia, Kirsty Macoll, Annie Lennox/Eurythmics, Aimee Mann, Jessica Harper); Fun girlie bands (Garbage, Pretenders, Blondie, B52s, Voice of the Beehive, Pipettes, Bangles) and other stuff that might be too cool for school (PJ Harvey, Coral, Goldfrapp, Rufus Wainwright, David Bowie, Cure).
And this might actually be my favourite song:
This film brings great joy to my heart:
There's so many more too: Arsenic and Old Lace; Barbarella; Breakfast At Tiffany's; Cabaret; Citizen Kane; Connie & Carla; Cover Girl; Clue; Cry-Baby; Dark Crystal; The Daytrippers; Donnie Darko; Ghost World; Gigi; Gilda; Ginger Snaps; Hair; Hairspray; Hedwig and the Angry Inch; How To Marry A Millionaire; Mystery Men; How To Steal A Million; The Ice Storm; Jesus Christ Superstar; Little Shop of Horrors; A Matter of Life and Death; Meet Me In St Louis; Moulin Rouge!; Muriel's Wedding; 9 to 5; On The Town; Phantom of the Paradise; Philidelphia Story; Rear Window; Singin' In The Rain; Spice World:The Movie; Strictly Ballrooom; Sweet Charity; Tootsie; West Side Story; When Harry Met Sally; Wizard of Oz; Xanadu (obviously); You Were Never Lovelier; Young Frankenstein... I could go on and on and on. And I will, given half a chance.
Ashes to Ashes; Bewitched; Blackpool; Bob and Rose; The Book Group; Buffy; Carnivale; (BBC3) Casanova; Charlie Broker's Screen Wipe; Crystal Maze; Dancing On Ice; Dexter; Firefly; Flight of the Conchords; Harry Hill's TV Burp; HeadJam; The High Life; I'd Do Anything; Inside The Actor's Studio; Life On Mars; Mighty Boosh; Mitchell and Webb; Muppet Show; Peep Show; QI; Queer As Folk; Ren & Stimpy; Secret Cabaret; Sesame Street; She-Ra - Princess of Power; Six Feet Under; The Smoking Room; The Soup; Spaced; Strictly Come Dancing; Tales of the City; Teachers; This Life; TOTP2; Wonderfalls; Wonder Woman. Also, pretty much everything on the TCM, Film Four and Biography Channels and all those trashy "I Love.../100 Greatest..." etc shows.
The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood; Wicked by Gregory Maguire; Whoever You Choose To Love by Colette Paul; The Magic Toyshop by Angela Carter - actually most of Angela Carter's dark, twisted fairy tales. Also adore Armistead Maupin's Tales of the City series. I read lots of old Hollywood biogs too, what with my vintage Hollywood obsessions.
Dolly Parton, Bette Midler, Jessica Harper, Jessica Rabbit, most super-heroines, Joel McHale of 'The Soup', Stephen Trask & John Cameron Mitchell, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, milliners, shoe-makers, Kitten on the Keys and all my favourite burlesque ladies, my beautiful and fabulous friends.
