"Now giant robot into motion!."
Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot is the English dubbed version of the famous live-action Japanese manga television show originally created in 1967.
The show centered around a boy Johhny Sokko, his pharoah-like giant robot and the evil villain Emperor Guillotine and his near Nazi faction of soldiers known as the Gargoyle Gang. The Gargoyle uniforms were very, very similar to the Waffen SS with exception to swastikas. The Gargoyle soldiers even saluted with the arms pointed straight in the air like the Roman salute of the Third Reich.
Johnny wore a special wristwatch that could call upon his giant flying robot during moments of danger and chaos. In most moments little Johnny was found on the verge of destruction at the hands of Emperor Guillotine and his giant, evil monsters.
Johnny Sokko and his Flying Robot was one of many great live-action Japanese television superhero shows from the 1960s. In the tradition of the Space Giants, Ultraman and Spectreman, Johnny Sokko rewarded fans of the genre with fun explosions and monsterous martial arts fight sequences. The show was distributed during the 1970s in the United States to UHF television stations in the pre-cable era of American television.
