Clothes, music, dogs, shoes, art, astrology, gardening, horses, home renovations, fresh flowers, good belgian beer - Chimay blue is my fav, and really good food - I'm a skinny girl that loves to eat! I'm trying to learn Pro Tools. I have a real weakness for beautiful heels and fabulous handbags... Love water--to be near it, look at it, be in it. Give me a beautiful beach or a clean lake and I'm a happy camper. I'm a city girl who loves the country. I hate to be cold, but I love to ski. I like to be needed, but I don't like needy people. I love to laugh.
You Are 60% Open Minded
You are a very open minded person, but you're also well grounded.
Tolerant and flexible, you appreciate most lifestyles and viewpoints.
But you also know where you stand firm, and you can draw that line.
You're open to considering every possibility - but in the end, you stand true to yourself.
How Open Minded Are You?
I'd like to meet:
Cool people who like music, or the other stuff on my list. And people with a good sense of humor. If you are interested in becoming my friend, please read my profile since I will take the time to read yours. I am in a loving relationship. Not interested in getting picked up ...but would love to hear from you if you have something interesting and/or intelligent to say, or have genuine interest in a project of mine.
Music:
Love all kinds of music as long as its really well done. Well maybe not a big fan of Country or Rap. I'm actually one of those rare people in the music business that are in it for the music... Currently working with a Brazilian jazz pianist/singer/songwriter Jamba. He has the smoothness of Norah Jones, combined with a voice that reminds me of Michael Jackson with meaningful lyrics to boot and he kicks butt on the piano. We just recorded what I believe to be his first single, 'I Like You Like That' which is what you're hearing on my page. It was co-written with Alex Petrounov, and produced by James Hellman at Tainted Blue Studios. Jamba's demos by Grammy winning Co-producer Michael Omartian “...not only display the Midas touch of a skilled young pianist at the top of his game, but a sensitive, supple tenor, breathing expression and emotion to every sung syllable†says Jeff Lorez, freelance writer for Billboard Magazine. His single, ‘I Like You Like That’, produced by music industry veteran James Hellman is a sweet little bossa nova that exudes the aspects of a true classic with worldwide appeal. Also, keep your ears peeled for Arif Mardin's last album which is being shopped at the moment. It is beautiful! It features SO many wonderful legendary artists, and my own client, sultry Aussie beauty Nicki Parrott (vocals and upright bass) on 'No Way Out', a song that Arif wrote just for her. This is also produced and mixed by Joe Mardin. Nicki currently has an album out on Arbors Records and is planning on recording a full length album shortly. I'll keep you posted. Nicki is the blue eyed, blond bombshell on my top 24...Then there's Alex Petrounov, prolific songwriter out of Nashville -- has over 200 songs in his catalog, also on my roster and on my top 24. He will have some outstanding tracks on some really cool albums soon, but we're playing hush hush for now.
Someone else in music that you should know about--my latest client, James Hellman. One of the most incredible people in the music business. James deserves a PhD in music--he's worked with just about every major artist we know--from the studio-producing, mixing, live sound, stage managing, master instrument tech, tour managing, as a musician - bass and keys, he's done it all, and well! James produced Jamba's single, 'I Like You Like That' and has been producing some acoustic beauties for Alex Petrounov--you really need to go to James' page and hear 'Boy Meets Girl', its incredible. Between Alex' storytelling abilities, and James' production...gives me goose bumps every time! He's also finishing up a beautiful tune by Joe Condiracci, 'Perfect World'...keep your eye out for that.
Also, if you haven't already checked out Raul Midon, please do. He's on my top 24 and is the most original artist I have ever laid ears on. Raul is currently in the studio with producer Joe Mardin working on his second album. Can't wait to hear it!!!Also a huge fan of Joshua Bartholomew, he's on my top 24. Love him much!!! Amazing voice, songwriting, musicianship, you name it, it's there. Flew out to Toronto to catch him live, glad I did.OK, now for a little taste of what's in my IPOD, would take me months to complete... Sting, Raul Midon, Sarah McLachlan, Coldplay, Butterfly Boucher, Joe Condiracci, Marc Broussard, The Verve, Yes, Howie Day, Gavin DeGraw, U2, Genesis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Bonnie Raitt, The Damnwells, Puracane, Olabelle, Fiona Apple, John Mayer, Peter Gabriel, Jimmi Hendrix, Oasis, Sheryl Crow, Travis, Carly Simon, Ryan Adams, The Clarks, Teitur, Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, The Bee Gees, Jamba, Police, Danielle Gerber, Swati, Dido, Bebel Gilberto (because I'm brazilian), Bob Duncan (we'll talk about him soon), Etta James, Billie Holiday, Cyndi Lauper (At Last), Ayesha Sanaa, Nirvana, No Doubt... As you can see, I love music and could go on forever about it. But alas, fingers going numb... Later!
Movies:
Love really good comedies, mysteries or dramas. Nothing too scary, I'm a big chicken. Art flicks are cool too. Secretly in love or lust, you choose, with Johnny Depp. Some of my all-time favs in no particular order are LA Story, There's Something About Mary, In Her Shoes, The Professional, Pirates of the Carribean, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Godfather part I & II, The Shawshank Redemption, Raising Arizona, Something About Mary, Usual Suspects, Bridget Jones Diary (both flicks), When Harry Met Sally, While You Were Sleeping, Office Space, Chocolate, Memoirs of a Geisha, Lord of the Rings, American Beauty, Forrest Gump, Pride and Prejudice, Tom Dowd and the Language of Music, Finding Neverland, The Princess Bride, Cold Mountain, and all the Sean Connery James Bond flicks. I cry at the movies, but I don't cause a scene. I'll come up with a few more when I get the chance to think about this longer.
Television:
Don't watch too much TV. Had an ex that cured me of that. Do not like reality television whatsoever. But I do like a few shows, and it's not TV, its HBO... Sex and the City, Six Feet Under, Sopranos, and then there's 24, Will & Grace and that 70's Show, but that's not much. Really should plug the thing back in...
Books:
Ah books... Will fill this in when i have time to read. Actually, I love astrology, so I read a lot about that... 'The Tipping Point' (good for business). Finished one of those feel good girlie books called 'Captivating - Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul' - like they could ever really figure me out... Still its pretty good, and my brother gave it to me, so I had to read it. Just read NY Times bestseller 'The History of Love'. And Brian Jacques 'Redwall' series with my boys... We're currently on 'The Bellmaker'. Great stories for kids.
Heroes:
Jackie O - because she gave meaning to the word class.
Princess Di - because she had a really big heart.
Sarah McLachlin - because she has the voice of an angel, and she is mother earth.
Martha Frankel - My mentor, amazing celebrity writer and one cool chick.
My Mom - even though she makes me crazy, she loves me more than anyone else.
My Kids - because they are beautiful, and smart, and they love me too... (sense a pattern here?)
My Brother Aldo a.k.a. 'Uncle Aldo' - he supports my career like no one else.
My Dad - he listens, gives great advice, and he prays for me.
Last, but certainly not least, my true love - because he's my soulmate.
