Purple Power!

About Me

I live in New York City with my husband, a semi-semi-famous musician. We worked for years to get to this level and now we're beginning to enjoy the fruits of our labor... My being on myspace is an indication of how much free time I have and/or how popular myspace is... Either way I am here...

My Interests

Music, Art, Films...

I'd like to meet:

Diane Keaton, Woody Allen, Kyra Sedgewick, Tom Cruise, Rosie O'donnell - don't the two go hand in hand... Barbra but I'd faint, Sting, Garrison Keillor, Al Franken, Jack Benny, Bogie and Bacall, George Burns and more than that Gracie and Bill Clinton (not Hillary - sorry)... Che Gavarra, Miles Davis and John Coltrane - I put all that in to sound cool, Robert Redford, Jeremy Piven (he's the bomb diggity), The Dalai Lama, Mother Teresa and oh yeah Oprah - really I'd like my husband to do her t.v. show and last but not least the inimitable Craig Ferguson!

Music:

My husband's music takes priority mostly but I LOVE Rickie Lee Jones, Zap Mama, Dianne Reeves, Cassandra Wilson, Amy Kohn, Barbra Streisand, India.Arie, Dionne Ferris, Monsieur Melon, Anjani, Rita Marley, Jack Johnson, Leonard Cohen, Glenn Gould to be continued...

Movies:

Annie Hall, Love & Death, Bananas, Sleeper, Manhattan, The Way We Were, Casablanca, Cinema Paradiso, anything with Roberto Benigni, Surrealist latin movies - you know Almodovar, EVERY Woody Allen film, Spike Lee (my husband worked with him) and all the comedies from the 30's and 40's with Katharine Hepburn - although hard to imagine she didn't like Meryl Streep?

Television:

Studio 60, The Closer, Project Runway, Top Chef, Bill Maher, The Daily Show and last but the most important The Colbert Report...

Books:

Just read Julia Child's My Life in France, The Judgment of Paris - there's a theme going here right? Cockeyed - memoir of a young guy who went blind slowly... About to read A World of Senses about a blind fellow who was an explorer - another theme?

Heroes:

My husband is my hero... and ok - my cat? He's not my hero but he thinks he is!

My Blog

Hollywoodland...

Just saw this flick...  I was sentimentally attracted to it because when my husband and I first moved to New York City we worked in a dive four nights a week... Yeah - we had a gig that started a...
