Tainted Blue Productions is Andrew Koss and Patrick Shaw. Tainted Blue Studios is their workspace. Designed for the ease of creativity and integration of new and old technologies, Tainted Blue Studios provides an all-inclusive facility aimed to serve the needs of producers, engineers, musicians and songwriters.Tainted Blue is located in the space that was formerly the Penthouse of Quad Studios in Times Square. This legendary room heard some of the most popular and important songs of the last 25 years.Andrew Koss is a graduate of Berklee College of Music and a song writer. Koss sought to create a space where his personal work would flourish as well as be a home to other artists and writers. Koss, in addition to being the owner, engineer and producer, also sees himself as the "Artist in Residence" at Tainted Blue.Although Tainted Blue is available for select rentals, Koss and Shaw plan to develop a clientele that seek the signature sound of the beautiful tracking room and newly engineered isolation booth as well as their production flavor. A large percentage of projects at TaintedBlue will be engineered and produced by the proprietors, much in the tradition of the major label mega studios of yesteryear (Abbey Road, Sun, the Hit Factory, Electric Ladyland) - where the recording space was as much part of the vibe in the music as the instruments themselves. In an age where the digital revolution has removed the mystery from the recording process, Koss and Shaw seek to bring back the "cool factor" to recording - recognizing it as a critical event in the creative process. When laying down their parts, musicians should be comfortable, they should flourish in their surroundings and they should feel uninhibited as their creations come to life. Tainted Blue achieves that. For management, contact Cindy @ [email protected] legal representation, contact Andy Tavel (Greenberg Traurig) @ 212.801.9200.
