Litmus - space rock

About Me

Litmus ARE spacerock for the 21st century. A collection of throbbing bass, pounding drums, searing guitar, swirling keyboards and screeching electronics, they are here to open heads and recalibrate minds. Live shows are an audio-visual extravaganza of projections, images and sounds, all taking the audience on a journey to the far reaches of both outer and inner space.
Litmus have supported Hawkwind, Space Ritual, the Ozric Tentacles and Arthur (The God of Hellfire) Brown. In January 2005, they were the tour support for Julian Cope on his UK tour. They played in 2002 and 2003 at Hawkwind's Hawkfest festival (appearing twice in 2003!) and in 2005 they played at the Roadburn Festival, the 2 Days of Love and Peace Festival in Wuppertal, the Celtic Warriors Festival and Sonic Rock, as well as supporting Space Ritual, American stoner rockers the Atomic Bitchwax and the amazing Witchcraft on London dates.
Their debut CD You Are Here, released on Space Music, has received massively positive reviews from, among others, Julian Cope, the Organ, Aural innovations, Head Heritage, Live 4 metal and Terrorizer Magazine.
The band's second CD "Planetfall" was released on Rise Above Records in April 2007 to great reviews from the music press, including Rocksound, Kerrang, Metal Hammer and Terrorizer.
A massively powerful live presence, Litmus need to be seen to be believed!

Skill Wizard

What a night! Winters were excellently heavy while Please provided an interesting set of what could probably best be described as "indie-psychedelia".  A packed venue with an enthusiastic an...

What we have been up to......

The band have returned from the remote wildness and beauty of Foel studios with some stunningly good tracks for the new album.  They managed to get all of the bass, guitar and drums complete...

Past and Future

Well, last night we played again at the Standard in Walthamstow, a place where we just seem to fit in alongside the beer stains (possibly because we have caused most of them!).  Litmus were ...

Eastern Haze

Apologies to everyone who came to see us at Eastern Haze; an unlikely series of unexpected automotive events (how many things can go wrong with one car in one day?) led to half the band being unable t...
