About Me

My first gig was Hawkwind, Usher Hall, Edinburgh Astounding Sounds Tour and it pretty much mapped out my life. I've seen them almost every year since. In 1979 I became the drummer in a band called Valhalla. The band was Heavy Metal, Space Rock and pretty good in retrospect. It was afterall the time of the NWOBHM. The band dissolved in the early eighties and I left Scotland to go to Thames Poly in Woolwich where another great musical time was had. At the turn of the century I gave up London to move west and haven't regretted it one bit. Today the year is 2007 and am I here and now. Does nothing seems quite as good as it did? Music just sounds so derivative, written by kids who have spent too long listening to their dads record collection. TV is an endless dirge of imported dramas which aren't nearly as good or clever as they think they are. You can't walk along a street without a bunch of private security workers in bad uniforms watching your every step. But worst of all you can't go to a Hawkwind gig and smoke anymore. We must rectify the above and bring together all things cosmic minded and provide a united front against boredom, middle age and apathy and if it goes some way to healing current rifts in the Hawkwind time space continuum then all the better. Just remember always ask why.
