(from 2003 press release): "World Music. Inner World Music..." offers Pablo, an eccentric new artist with a quirky, mystical instrumental vision. A little background info, Pablo? "I’m from the distant stars.." he smiles, but we place him closer to Earth. Los Angeles to be exact. Pablo began his musical journey at a young age, learning to play new & exotic instruments as he moved around the globe, due to his father’s business demands. "I never lived in one place long enough to make close friends. My father would buy little instruments to entertain me, and those instruments became my family," he once said. And many of those childhood instruments are heard prominently on his debut CD: a chakra-opening blend of jazz-funk, Indian classical, boogaloo, ambient music, & just high weirdness. Pablo plays most of the instruments on the disc himself while under the influence.. A musical cornucopia of funky jazz-zaniness & Eastern mystical grooves.
