Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Dangling Stars
There are two of us writing this book...Me ... 'hellooo ' ... (Bridget Wishart) and him...'Hi!'... (Ian Abrahams). One of us is a writer ... him ... and one of us is a singer/songwriter ... me.We are writing this book together because it needs both sides ... well, it actually needs loads of sides which is why we've got this Myspace page together. We need as many of your viewpoints, experiences and adventures as we can get ... and we need lots of great photos and pics of paraphernalia and posters. We're writing a book that'll cover many years, a good few free festivals and a lot of opinions and angles. We'll follow the gradual dissolution of the free festival in the years following the banning of the Stonehenge Free Festival due to changes in law and we’ll consider how the people and events crossed over into the free party scene. We'll also look at what we have now.We are keen to hear from festival bands, organisers, stall holders, poets, performers, litter pickers, festival goers, artists, jugglers, travellers, locals … in fact everyone whose lives have been affected by free festivals and the free party scene. Is that enough blurb...? Yeah!
Get in touch – we need you!About the Authors:Bridget Wishart shall describe herself as a singer/songwriter, artist and mum. She has sung with many bands including Hawkwind, Spirits Burning and the Hippy Slags. She is working on a second cd with Spirits Burning. The first, Earth Born, is due for release in 2008.Ian Abrahams might describe himself as a ‘9-5 man in a suit’ but he’s also the author of the acclaimed biography of Hawkwind ‘Sonic Assassins’ and the recent ‘Strange Boat’, a study of Mike Scott and the Waterboys. Regularly contributing to ‘Record Collector’ magazine, Ian has also written for ‘Bass Guitar’ and ‘The Guardian’ … and even ‘Credit Today’. The last one isn’t very rock ‘n’ roll, though.
