Roberto Cassani and fellow nessmp3.com friends Toby Michaels (Stolen Order) Ayre and Battle4Bella heat winners Driving North launched the Belladrum Tartan Heart Fringe programme at The Invergordon Arts Centre, May 23 in some style. Tain beat combo Ayre opened up the proceedings with an up beat set of bouncy optimistic pop rock well appreciated by an enthusiastic audience. Toby Michaels our cordial host brought Battle4Bella heat one winners Driving North to the stage and they settled into a charged set of Celtic Fusion, exploring the unlikely synergy of twin fiddle attack and saxophone (keyboard) support, whipping up a good measure of audience participation and ultimately thunderous appreciation.Toby then carried his relaxed and confident stage presence into a set of accoustified Stolen Order song and a full blooded rendition of Tenacious D's Greatest Song in the World, displaying a natural talent for solo performance, a robust guitar style accompanying his substantial vocal talents. After proclaiming a spiritual connection with Roberto Cassani tonight's headline attraction a fact Roberto concurred with from his seat in the audience, before leaving his seat taking the stage to shrieks and whoops from the Cassani faithful cramming the front rows and warm applause of a healthy audience in the very atmospheric and intimate Invergordon venue, treating us to his own unique blend of near the knuckle social comment and hilarious observation, delivered in his endearing Italian Scots ascent.
