I am the daughter of a Chilean exile and ex-political prisoner. I grew up outside the homeland eventually arriving in Scotland in 1996, where I met guitarist David Russell at the Edinburgh Festival. In a cottage in the borders we spent a whole night and day doing our first recordings and started our duet known then as Amor Brujo. David, a talented guitarist and sound engineer, quickly became honorary Chilean and is Latin American in his playing! We are accompanied by Scottish bassist May Halyburton and Argentine percussionist Gerardo Ballesteros. We want to keep alive and promote folk music traditions from our Americas......
Soy hija de exiliada y ex-prisionero polÃtico. Crecà fuera de mi paÃs. Llegué a escocia en 1996, donde conocà al guitarrista David Russell durante el Festival de Edimburgo. En una casita de campo en 'las fronteras' (al sur de escocia) pasamos un dÃa y una noche haciendo nuestras primeras grabaciones, siendo esto el comienzo de nuestro dúo conocido entonces como Amor Brujo. David, un talentoso músico e ingeniero de sonido, rápidamente pasó a ser Chileno honorario y ES latino cuando toca. Nos acompañan la bajista escocesa May Halyburton y percusionista Argentino Gerardo Ballesteros. Queremos difundir y mantener viva tradiciones folklóricas de nuestra américa. Porqué canto? "Canto para volar y vuelo para llegar a casa"......................
