How to Text
To vote for your favourite band simply text SURFACE followed by the number of the band (for example "SURFACE 183" for HEARTSTRING) to 83149. Please remember to include a space after SURFACE otherwise we will not be able to use your vote. All band numbers must contain three digits (i.e. 002). 10 (ten) pence from every text will go to Oxfam. Voting is available each day starting from February 01st 2008 until August 08th 2008

Text votes are counted at the end of the night of each gig via direct online checking. After the vote has been counted text votes for bands that have not progressed will not be registered but may still be charged for in accordance with the terms and conditions.
If a band progresses through to the next round then the text vote count will be reset and the vote count will commence immediately after the results have been announced.

Heartstring are a five piece rock style band, from the Wirral, North West England; who’s sound is similar to that of ‘Garbage’ and ‘No Doubt’. The band have been performing since 2005 but has had a few line up changes and now consists of Chris Tann (guitar), Al Clark (drums & percussion), Alicia Khoshdel (vocals & keyboard), James Ruane (guitar) and Paddy Higginson (bass). Each of whom brings their own influences to the band to create a brand new, exciting and modern style of contemporary rock. In 2005 Heartstring recorded their first four track EP with the original members Al Clark and Chris Tann, and completed their second five track EP titled ‘One Last Dawn’, in 2006.Since then, Heartstring have put on many great performances around Liverpool, Manchester, Chester and the Wirral. They have an impressive stage presence and really get the audience involved. They have had a lot of experience performing at various gig venues from clubs such as the Late Room in Manchester to the Cavern and Barfly venues in Liverpool as well as pubs and festival events such as the recent Liverpool Streetwaves events held in Williamson Square, Liverpool and the 60th WWII Anniversary concert held in Coronation Park, Greasby, Wirral.The band have had various reviews which includes the well known North west music magazine, ‘The Buz’ and a German magazine called ‘Bloom’ (accessed from www.bloom.de). The band have recently been played on a popular New Jersey radio station called HGRNJ (Home Grown Radio New Jersey) by famous DJ, Sher Delight.After supporting ‘The Sugars’, in Liverpool during their UK tour Hearstring now are getting ready to record a 12 track album due for release around June 2008.
